Yeah, even s0m wasn't really liking the format either but it is what it is.

Yeah, even s0m wasn't really liking the format either but it is what it is.
Pretty much, 16 players play an unrated for the 1st round to try and get the most kills in order to qualify for the next round (the # of kills to qual was like 28+). Whoever didn't make it gets eliminated and the qualified 8 move to the next round for another unrated game. The "grand-finals" was just a 1v1.
The entire format was horrible due to the fact that it was in unrated instead of maybe a TDM which would've been better. There was stupid drama between Shanks and Dasnerth in the 2nd round because there was like 4 queue sniper with 3 of them being on their team. The snipers attempted to troll Dasnerth so Shanks would win and one of the snipers on the other team was calling out where he was and inting for Shanks, Dasnerth didn't like that, he dm'd admins to void that game which is fair tbh since he wanted the game to be fair. Shanks didn't want to do another game if the game was voided so he shittalked the event and said not to invite him again.
Sorry for the yap.
Since they still have an active team atm in challengers, what will happen to them? Pretty fucked for the players
For TGRD's case, the org ended operations in whatever game they had teams in and laid off all of their staff so they had to find an org that could pick them up. But for Sin Prisa, they're not technically an org (cmiiw) but more like a f/a team similar to turtle troop.
Fr, I really wanted to see either a Riddle Order bundle or Sin Prisa bundle but I guess not ;(
I'm pretty sure he's just playing in the tournament for fun and for the money. He's still gonna be on Talon.
I think most people recognize that Flor is a talented player but undermine her because of who she plays against. I'm not hating on her but the skill difference between Flor and her opponents is pretty far. She has the mechanics to play in high Tier 2 but she has to prove herself first.
I think based off rumors, crashies was scrimming (or at the least trialing) with MxS along Stellar I think and Victor is gonna play with Cubert Academy (prev' OXG core + Governor) in a small pug tournament. There is no 'real' answer as to where the two will go (especially Victor due to his injury) but likely a Tier 2 team.
Hopefully MxS win Ascension 2025, they have signed exceptional players in the past but always seem to fail short when it most matters. I hope they can make a roster consisting of players that deserve Tier 1.
Yeah no hate to the new players but I think I prefer Flashback on sentinel than on initiator and BeYn on the roster. Hopefully by the time the season starts, DRX has their roles down.
Between DRX 2022/23/24, every player was/is likeable
I feel like for Omen is pretty tough but it has to be between Marved, Mako, or Pancada. I think in terms of longevity/consistency, MaKo has been there at the top but in terms of achievements it would between Marved and Pancada since they were both MVPs of their respective titles. But you could also argue Pancada over Marved since he won Champs 2022.
They didn't drop BuZz. His contract was expiring this year and didn't choose to renew it.
People are hating on him just to hate and it's honestly sad. Talented player but got fucked over by unfortunate circumstances.
Foxy9 isn't even a bad player. People only hate on him for his stats when he was passed around every role. Obviously someone isn't going to be playing at their highest when on a different role than their original one.
I.E; GE put t3xture on senti and look what happened. 2023 GE was an absolute joke and they were bottom of the barrel. Now, t3xture became one the best players itw and one of the best duelists all time
Man, I really do hope maybe SPG make a change and pick him up. Such a promising player. No hate to any of the SPG players
That's cool, I hope to see him play well next season.
I'm not well versed in the Tier 2 Korean scene, how good is he and what agents does he play?
IGL/Flex: Munchkin
Smokes: s0m
Sentinel: Chichoo
Initiator: Riens
Duelist: BuZz
For sure, I honestly would prefer BeYn more just because I think he adds a lot of vocal value. I also really liked his energy from when he started playing in Split 1.
Thanks before I used the immortal rose buddy, I was using the gonggi buddy (none gold)
Overall not a bad tierlist. The only thing I would change is PRX with either DRX (biased) because I feel like PRX in their last few games looked not that good and with the likely hood they're not going to be changing their roster, I am not that confident they'll be as good as they were before. DRX has a lot of potential to be insanely good, idk much about their recent signings but from what I heard, they are promising talent.
No hate to the players or teams, but honestly no, they wouldn't be able to compete in Challengers (if the entire roster of SR played). Sure, in GC they are talented players in and out of the game but in comparison to other T2 teams let alone teams in the Open Qualifiers, they are just not good. Like #2 said, they got stomped on by either random players or bottom T2/High T3 teams. If they were to try again in the next Open Qualifiers, I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens.
protocol sheriff (white/pink version) and immortal rose buddy
W pickup. Looks I'll be rooting for DRX, T1, and GENG next year in APAC.
I saw he was rumored to join but wouldn't he have been announced along with free1ng and HYUNMIN?
Does anyone have any insight as to who DRX's 5th will be since it's pretty much confirmed that Munchkin has re-signed?
It's pretty possible for EG to pick him up in replace of Supamen (if actually does get signed to LEV, which is not likely) and I want to see Jimzo back on stage badly.
Yeah, Riot or Leo Faria needs to change something for the entire Tier 2 scene or it will end up dying since it hurts the org more than benefits them to play in Challengers.
I agree. Coming into Kickoff, GenG were seen as a middle of the pack team because of the players but proved everyone wrong. I think the Korean teams next year will likely dominate with all of them taking Top 5 regionally. With their current signings T1 and DRX look extremely promising, but if DRX signed Munchkin then they'd be set.
SK teams are looking insane this year. All SK teams might take Top 5 next season
His aim is pretty crisp. Excited to see him on the official stage next year. Also, does anyone know when the season starts? I heard it's supposed to start early next year (January)
Does that mean that Flashback will be flex or initiator?
Does anyone know what roles they'll play? and why Leviathan wasn't also announced? Maybe DRX decided to buy out Munchkin
I think they'll announce it sometime this weekend. s0m and FNS will be in LA onFriday for the Intel Clout Cash so I think they'll probably be filming their announcement video then.
Orgs should be finishing signings for their official rosters later today iirc. But when they'll be announced will probably later this month or in November, at least for some teams since they'll be playing in Red Bull HG soon.
If I had to guess, probably just resigning with GenG since it seems the rumored DRX roster will likely happen. But if he were to go to DRX, he would be a very good pickup for not only his agent pool/role but also lift the role of IGL off of MaKo's shoulders and let him rest.
o7 to BuZz, BeYn, and Foxy9. Even though I wanted this roster to stay together and see more improvement, I hope they picked up for next season and do great.
Dropping BeYn is so sad bro. I wanted to see him on the roster more. Idek if they're cooking but I'm just sad with these roster moves.
I feel bad for Sscary but not crazyguy. Fck that guy.
I genuinely trophy next season, either Masters Toronto or Champions Paris
Chivalry of a Failed Knight - There is some fan service, so if you don't like that then I wouldn't watch but overall I enjoyed it. Plus, the fight scenes were pretty entertaining to watch too.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime - Very good Isekai anime with good animation and fight scenes. There a some mixes of Slice of Life but mainly action
Although I hope that Demon1 stays on the team, Derke to NRG is actually very good for them. If I'm not mistaken, Derke is somewhat friends with FNS and or s0m, so I think there should be some good chemistry from the start. He's also very versatile in Duelists he plays and will prove beneficial in filling with the Duelists they weren't using before.
I hope they keep Demon1, it would honestly be a huge waste of firepower and money. I still think he adds a lot to the team but expanding his agent pool to other duelists would be very beneficial.
Fair point, but I firmly believe that in time, the current DRX roster will perform better than this year.
DRX look fine to me. I don't think they need any change to be honest. Even though BeYn, Flashback and Foxy9 were inexperienced, they still performed pretty well and deserve to stay on the roster.
Just my personal opinion though.
Also, do you think Gen.G or PRX make moves or stay the same?
Gen.G, I think pretty unlikely because their current roster is still very good and each player contributes on their respective roles. But PRX might have to make a change or two, the first being to force Jinggg to learn other agents outside of just Raze, Sage, and Neon because his agent pool restricts them from using "standard" comps. The other option they could do is to drop Something for an IGL because, to be honest, he is a little bit overrated. I don't hate the guy, but from what I saw when watching their match against G2 in the opening match for Champs, he was just ego-peaking and throwing some rounds when they had the advantage.
No hate to Flor, but to say Flor's aim is "top of franchising" is an over-exaggeration. Like sure, Flor's aim is good BUT compared to top tier 1 players like Aspas, KangKang, Zekken, etc. Flor does not come close to them, having good aim does not mean you are franchised material. One person can't their entire team with their aim alone.
