how is this guy getting a job still after saying allat crazy shit? I'm surprised Valorant twitter hasn't cancelled him and boycotted Liquid yet. They cry over boo accidentally retweeting something but don't do anything about kamo?! (I might have missed the kamo outrage but I did not see anything about it) Isn't he a massive brand risk for Liquid?

Same reason why okeanos isn't getting cancelled and is probably gonna play franchising, both of them did very dumb shit as kids 3 years ago, but people can change

Did okeanos call black people "N*ggerMonkeys" and want to see 14 year olds nudes? "People can change"
Don't think studies have shown pedophiles can un-pedo themselves.
Acting like Kamo is Aspas and one of the richest orgs on earth Liquid can't find any replacements

This honestly makes me wonder how good kamo was in his tryout for Liquid to risk their image by signing him?

On a similar note, how good was paTiTek in his tryout as well for Liquid to choose him over kr1stal who's probably gonna play the same position + IGL

Kamo was with Lohan before in GTZ in portugal

imo they shouldve went with kr1stal too, maybe Pati had some Shanghai performances in scrims but idk, i mean hes good but if Liquid want a roster that makes deep international runs idk if hes the best

He was 17. And was given a suspension for it people can change hes apologised multiple times. Now you can just hope he's a better person and isn't racist/abusive obviously liquid would have looked into it before signing

And there has been outrage for signing kamo on twitter

At the end of day he's done his suspension and probably is matured adult now

Kamo apologized for his behavior and released some of the chat screenshots on his part. It's clear that racism and explicit slurs were constant for both parties. According to the team's coach, Kamo himself is 17 years old.

First, I want to apologize for my words and behavior. This is shameful and unacceptable.

I'm sorry. I've been in the racist and toxic community discord for a long time, as well as flows, through the words you might see, became an unforgivable habit. I and flows were in a toxic pathological internet relationship that started to destroy each other.

Sex predatory allegations are not true and there is a lot of falsehood in flows's narrative, which I want to show with screenshots from our conversations.

I want to apologize to every person I have offended and spoke badly about. In these moments, the docile environment of the Internet and the confusing possibility of saying what you want was treacherous.

I hope that any person who acts like me and gives permission to do so will also come to their senses and realize that what they are doing is simply wrong and not funny. it's time to become a man, not a stupid kid who is impressed with being edgy. I want to bear whatever consequences that have arisen from my disgusting acts.

he was 16 and he was already punished for it, what kind of society are we in are obsessed with ruining the career of a talent like him because something he did as a 16yo and which he already paid for? everyone except sociopath serial killers can change, specially a 16yo from Poland who probably didnt understand how sensible of a topic racism is in other countries compared to Poland, I experienced it myself too, growing up it was a bit hard for me to understand how sensible people in other countries were towards racism

yeah he isnt a human trafficker or a rapist but he was pressuring a minor and someone younger and impressionable to give him nudes so we letting that slide because he was also a minor? really? is that line we draw? yeah you were u18 sooooo we close our eyes and dont see what u are doing

if I remember correctly she was 1-2 years younger than him, 1 year at that age is fine 2 is a bit more questionable for sure but its not that uncommon here in Europe, it happens all the time to see an age difference like that at 14-18 age

#36

okay lets run this situation, you have a 14 year old daughter, and she is getting pressured by someone 2 years older than her for nudes, how would you feel. or if its ur sister. would you be okay? enraged? or you just wouldnt care?

#42

bro she even started with the nudes and Kamo showed a post where she said it, he didnt initiated allat

#47

she sharted it herself btw, no I wouldnt, I must admit that 2 year diff at the age is a bit weird but thats it, if that happened to my daughter or sister I would think the guy is probably a weirdo and he is struggling to find girls even 1 year younger than him, my main concern would be that he is probably a weirdo but if he wasnt then its fine, I would be concerned at first but thats it (talking about dating), she started it as u can see in the article u sent, if he was pressuring her to do something she doesnt want to I would be mad since thats super weird at that age where even one year difference seems a lot for some reason

they must be Jesus Christ themselves the way they wanna ruin the career of a kid who made mistakes as a 16yo, interesting the lenghts humans these days will go to just to make themselves think they are good people and better than others, hope they enjoy the feeling they get from trying to trick their brain into thinking they are doing good acts

#32

i dont think im jesus christ and i will admit ive made mistakes and people i know hold me accountable to mine, so why shouldnt people hold kamo accountable to his? i dont trick myself into thinking im doing good acts but its clear he didnt do anything good and is a racist so why cant people hold him accountable. i dont think anyone enjoys seeing him play but they are just calling out bs, like the same with anyone who is a dickhead. look at any sport, football, american football basketball. there are terrible people in these sports and people have boycott teams and called teams out for signing them yet nothing has been done. i would happily name these terrible people and u try and tell me if they should be defended

#37

they held him accountable for his mistakes thats why he got punished already back in the day, u cant compare a 16yo saying racist stuff in DMs with whatever famous sports figures do as adults, the 16yo made a mistake, he apologized, was punished for it and now is in a path of redemption, are we gonna hold him accountable forever for something he said in DMs at 16yo? thats not fair at all and doesnt serve any purpose

link to apology?

who said it was adults? elye wahi was 16 and asking for nudes from high school girls which isnt too dissimilar from kamo and people have been calling him out so why should it stop now?

you know a kids' personality changes rather easily right? they are just dumb. their brains are still evolving and they mostly dont have emotional maturity. if they had that then they'd be called "adults", not "kids". there is a reason why most countries don't send children and teenagers to jails, instead sending them to rehab centers.

#45

Frags

so ur arguement is. ha its a kid sooooo we should let it slide? that is suchhhhh a great argument. akimbo_ on vlr thinks if u are a kid you can do whatever you want without being called out for it ir punished and everything goes cuz you are a kid

#34

ah yes, don't hold impressionable minors accountable and let them say/do whatever they want perfect!

#39
idkbro
1
Frags

you are acting as if he raped 3 people and then murdered them afterwards, his crime was being racist together with his gf in DMs (probably just cuz kids that age like to act edgy), its not that if of a deal that he must be punished forever, almost all kids can change their brains and its not like he did something unforgivable, the only difference between kamo and other pros is that his DMs got leaked, its very likely almost everyone who is a pro in Europe has said crazy shit when they were nonamers or in DMs back when they were kids grinding the game

#41

Not condemning his actions allows for a culture where it is normalized. I don't think most people on VLR wanna ruin his career, I made this thread cuz I was confused and surprised that he still is getting offers not to shit on him. Only the brain-dead VLR twitter people want him cancelled/jobless

#43

Everyone condemns his actions and if you were around in 2021 u would know what he was kicked from his org and punished by Riot if I remember correctly, even got shit on by the whole community, I am glad you dont want him cancelled and I am a bit surprised he got signed to a woke org like Liquid, they must have come to the conclusion that he learnt from it, all his past teammates speak really well of him as a person and that came as a surprise, he could have been in a bad place mentally as a 16yo but its likely that he is changed now

#46

so thats enough? bro shouldnt shouldn't have a career. if I'm being serious. but Im not. if he wants to keep being a pro player he would have to live with being called out at every avenue and thats good enough

#49
idkbro
3
Frags
+

yes thats enough lmao, I think the lifes of the NIP players he called monkeys or whoever he called the n word didnt change one bit after the DMs got leaked, if he got punished, learned from it, did it as a 16yo from Poland then where is the problem? if somebody wants to try to cancel him and hate him for something he did as a 16yo which isnt even that bad then u do you but remember that the bad person here is not kamo but those who think they have the right to destroy the career of a 16yo for trivial shit like this which 99% of europeans have done as kids

I mean isn't all the controversy around him bit overblown? Oh no 17 year old Polish guy said the N word! Like I think people who go crazy over it would be in shock if they actually visited a country where people throw slurs quite casually (like Poland I would imagine). Also the whole nudes thing is bit 50/50 because yeah its weird, but at the same time it isn't illegal. And also something that is easy to judge outside looking in, but people behave differently and the intent might have not been bad just possibly a random interaction in relationship.

just some thoughts, but yeah ofc he is a brand risk.

they clearly havent played online videogames as kids in Europe, its the most common thing to see kids being racist to each other for the silliest reasons or just to tilt others, no hard feelings either just kids being retarded

#48

Yeah also in my experience its not even a kids only thing. I heard slurs in internet, school, army... literally everywhere where there's been people of my age. And these are not some edgy lords but just regular people.

#50

same here but with kids its even worse specially on the internet, its very common to use slurs regularly here so they are very normalized, nobody really takes offence for it but the internet is wild, I got called some crazy shit when I was a kid on the internet including racist/xenophobic stuff but I would just do the same to them and honestly I dont think there were any hard feelings involved, most of it wasnt serious and those same people matured as they got older and now just do it as banter no1 really cares, they dont actually mean what they say or are racists

We have drama he joins a team. 3rd time now actually. (First was fine since it was shortly after the situation happened)

At some point people will have to sit down and think about what they think are unforgivable crimes.

If racist remarks are one of those then there would be no reason for someone who said something racist to ever improve in that regard. It would be extremely counter productive and only slow down our more modern attempts to reduce racism (obviously recent political trends in various countries/regions could/are already undoing all this, but at least currently id say there's efforts being made).

Do we think our current society is ready for that? Is racism rare enough that you could reasonably exile every racist from society?

---------
I think its perfectly fine for Kamo to keep participating in esports. We have no accounts that would make us think he has had any issues regarding these racist remarks on any previous team or any team since.

This doesnt mean forget about it. Keep an eye on it for sure.

But at least based on current information it hasnt been a problem for such a long time, that I dont think it would be fair or productive to keep trying to punish him over it.

I believe in trying to improve people rather than shunning them, where possible. I acknowledge that what you think can be fixed and what doesnt will depend on ones values, however I really find it hard to believe that any of truly grew up in an society truly devoid of prejudice and racism.
So unless you want to keep living in a world plagues with those issues, trying to improve and reform is the only way forward.

I cant say if Kamo truly has changed, but I think it'd be stupid to deny him the opportunity.
