kinda makes me feel for latam players/fans. it feels like there are so many good players in that region, especially in tier two, who are just not going to get to have a chance to play in tier one now that there is basically only one latam team.

the team itself does look good though, it will be interesting to see demon1 on this and how he will fit

not even from latam and it leaves an incredibly sour taste in my mouth, I want to see my org win and I like demon1 but I fell in love with them because of their 2022 roster and it feels like we have strayed too far away from that

They need a latam duelist to represent latam like cmon

I actually disagree with this, who are you going to pick up from latam that can be a world-class duelist? dante is underage and no one else really comes to mind, the supportive pieces are where latam shines and as long as the roster has a majority latam it doesnt matter the role

Br duelists are plentiful

Unfortunately im not tapped in to br scene so i dont know enough but who are the options? sato is being hounded by br teams, spike ascended, dgzin and snw werent that impressive from the eye test

honestly im just gonna trust you on this, even if snw is goated i still think there is a deeper talent pool in na but picking him up is an option ig

Snw is great, but he had Murizz and Nagzet on his team lol

Maybe they might go to an approach like KC and M8 are doing; two french teams with zero french players in their roster

leviatan thinks only you can win champions with some international talent in you team i agree with them

yeah I also agree and was fine with last years split but a majority non-latam roster feels like it has strayed from what the team was considering there still is talent in t2 they could look at

also shyy and mazino decide to leave to kru so.. its not just leviatan if shyy stayed on things would be different right now

Why would you agree with that? Literally no team ever won a champions with an international roster

I mean yeah but 1) Everyone thinks that was a fluke win 2) Apart from Cned everyone on the team was from a region smaller than the USA itself lol

Still an international roster by that regard, a team full of players with many different nationalities (starxo and zeek are both polish)

But it's international in a different way, it's not the same thing. Was Kru considered international in 23 having players from Chile, Argentina and Colombia? No, cause they were from the same region, with similar culture, so they were very aligned. In Europe is the same thing, except i think you should divide it in Eastern, Northern, Southern and Western, and Acend was a Eastern Europe team.

Lev would have mainly players from the US, with one EMEA and one LATAM. It's different. No team ever won that way.

Europe its small, soo ofc all their teams is goig to be international.

I mean, 2024 SEN is technically an international roster?

Johnqt - MENA
Sacy - BR
Zellsis, TenZ, Zekken - NA

And there's not really that much "international" rosters out there, since you can only have one import on your team

if a latam org wants to win titles that's the right choice is not the most likeable one but the correct one

Lev with aspas and com won 0 trophies last year and achieved the same results as 2021 kru with a far more experienced roster. Latam has talent but for some reason one of our orgs chose to turn their backs on us.

2021 was the easiest year of esport valorant though, most of the time it was purely out of mechanics that teams could win, utility was seen as an option, no a necessity

The new roster is not that insane either

I wouldn't put them as favorites to win internationals

Sadly, only KRU is willing to invest in Latam talent and give them opportunities unlike LEV. I remember the CEO saying they want to be competitive and for that they need to sign international players, sort of feel bad for the Latam region

A lot of people really hate how Lev approaches roster changes and I do kinda agree. The org shouldn't neglect talents from their own region (potentially missing out promising talent while also pissing off the latam fanbase)

I understand because LATAM has a lot of talent. But me personally I really don’t think it’s that deep and don’t mind it as much when it happens to us (not the same but you get the point)

Maybe it’s me that has a different kind of mentality but I would like to see a day where esports becomes a little bit more like sports where you support the badge and there’s a sense of loyalty opposed to just hopping around depending on who signs who. Maybe it’s just me tho

#14

I would agree with you if I saw any other org besides latam offering latam players opportunities, sadly that's rarely the case so that's why i kind of feel for latam fans

#30

Well if those players don't get picked up it's because teams think there's better options but I don't think that's the case. Saadhack is in EMEA now and they've gotten opportunities in Brazil too

I understand you point, but even in Sports, we cant have loyality to a team that dont have a sense of itself.
Like, Spain have a lot of SA players, still they have Europeans and Spanish players, but imagine Barcelona filled with USA players, and they become a American team, they dont understand Spanish, and dont even try to get used to the culture, you will lose you interest, this team doesnt represent you anymore and are filled with players u dont give a shit.

Its the same with Val orgs, if Loud have 4 USA and 1 Br, and sudenly, all the videos be made in english, the org will lose his sense of itself, there will not have home pride.

Real Madrid has 1 Spanish player on the starting 11, he's getting old and there is no sign of Madrid signing a Spanish replacement, other than that there's Brahim who's now playing for Morocco, Lucas Vazquez, Ceballos, Fran Garcia and fucking Vallejo. And in football I've absolutely never heard a Madrid fan complaining about that

Also in Valorant for example, TH fans have never been happier than now with this roster. Idk I think that is a very sensitive topic but specially in SA I think it's way too overblown

#45
Prasinos

I cant speak for Spanishs to be honest, but i can speak for Latam/Br people, itsnt necessary a overblow, its just that we want people who suffers what we suffer, pass for what we pass, our brothers, our sisters, we want to see our people show to the world of what we are capable of.

Loud has fans, bc they are Brazilians, Lev has fans, bc they are Chilenos and also Latinos.
What unite us latinos is a strong bond with our folk

Maybe this is just cultural diferenfe beetwhen Europe and SA, maybe its a overblow like you said.

I think that the example of Real Madrid is not a good comparison, in the case of Madrid people feel represented because it is the team where they live and they always go to see it and also because it is the biggest team in the world.

In the case of the Spaniards feeling happy for TH it is because in every game they are used to having players from other countries, Spain has no scene in any game.

See its funny cause people are saying how you should have international rosters to win titles but the majority of international titles were won by a roster of 80% or more from the same continent/region lol

#27

I think its more a region diff. certain regions just have better players resulting in better placements its simple as that. latam in terms of talent havent been looking great compared to na and eu.

#35
foythvlr

Frags

Disagree with that. LATAM has a lot of players with good potential that can be developed to become great. The region may have a problem with the mentality, sure, but that's fixable and they already proved they can go far. Abandoning it is just denying your own origins and letting your own region to rot. And there's not a problem on bringing a foreigner to the team, but they're making the entire team non-latam, besides Kingg

#43
NRGSUPERFAN

i dont disagree with continuing to build rosters that include players from your own region. i think the roster with mazino, kingg and aspas was good. i was mostly reffering to the fact that NA and EU are dominating due to the fact that they have better players and therefor have won the most trophies compared to Asia or south america.

i think the reasom why latam doesnt or havent had a world class player in awhile is due to management. we see the same 5-6 brazilian players fail at 1 org and then gets giving another chance, instead of thinking more long term and picking up players from t2/t3.

also its more easier for orgs to deal with visa issues if the players are from na and such so that might also be a factor.

#46
foythvlr
1
Frags

Couldn't agree more. While i don't think NA and EU have better players, they definetly let their promising young players have more space and develop, while here is just recycling the same ones lol. The impression i get is that Lev and Kru were always switching players every season

Tex has improved so much

I'm from chile and been into esports for a long time amd the truth is that LATAM isn't built to win championships, we do not have the structure, the big boys organizations behind to build talent at lower levels, it is just by purely themselves, and it has always been that way.

Take a look at yesterday R7 vs Pain, the two imports being summit and keine played their hearts out and the three local players just absolutely shat themselves, in every esport (excluding solo games, like fighting games) LATAM always crumbles, it is just the way it is.

If you really want to win things, specially in valorant, you have to go international. It is sour, and I don't like it THAT much. But from a owners perspective, it is the best way to make some kind of ROI. (KRU is a exception because they shit money, Aguero + Messi but they still can't pass through groups every year.)
