for those unfamiliar 2Game is a Brazilian G2A that sells stolen keys at a cheaper price then retail. they decided to make a esports org recently and now have won ascension. Not really sure how much funding 2Game is willing to put into relocating to LA because i doubt they ever really thought they would get this far. so two potential problems have arisen from this win. Does 2Game even think its worth relocating to LA for VCT for 1 year with the potential risk of being auto relegated and wasting all of the investment they put forward? secondly and i think the much more nuanced problem, does riot even want to allow an org promoting stolen keys into their tier 1 league and if not how do they go about it? as we saw with TGRD last year who chose not to sign the VCT contract and pull out of esports all together riot originally didnt want to budge on their no selling vct spots rule, but after a huge amount of community backlash they eventually budged and let the players sign to a different org after they approved them. does riot just do the same thing again? if so it will have huge long-term effects and orgs will stop supporting t2 teams entirely and just wait until one wins and have massive bidding wars on free agent teams which is exactly what riot wanted to avoid. so if thats off the table what should riot do?
What should Riot do about 2G?
2G is an european company based on London with european owners, they’re an official seller of keys and have partnership with many games companies to sell their keys oficially.
They had one of the best infrastructures of the VCB building a gaming office for their teams and having bonuses based on performance, and invested on a bootcamp in Europe before ascension.
But of course you don’t care about that, you care about what you think based on nothing.
yeah i have no idea where you got this information almost none of it is public to my knowledge. the most i could find was that they did boot camp in europe. and on their website it says they dont sell 'illegally' obtained products but youll find similar wording on g2a which everyone knows isnt entirely true. i cant find any owners listed to see if they are brazilian or european but it doesnt really matter at all. what i wrote has more to do with riot, vct, and general concerns and information that ive seen then it has to do with the 2G owners and validity of their keys. if you can link me where you found all this info id be happy to edit my post so its not spreading any false information. :)
maybe but that would create a problem of its own if the newly ascended team that beats you doesnt have enough money to buy their spot and riot ideally wants to avoid any selling of spots in any capacity. like even EG earlier this year was going to sell their partnered spot to flyquest until riot stepped in and basically told them to get their shit together.

EG are literally in a lawsuit against their ex players and employees
Team Secret scammed several sponsors and players out of their money
If you have problems with 2g, I am sure we can find other candidates ''not worthy'' of franchising. Problem is that dozens of orgs will drop, but then no scammers :)

A russian youtuber, Morf, who has quite a few sources, has backed up the claim that navi have indeed scammed people with NAVI Tokens (with OG and Alliance). They also collabed with G2A alongside SK and VP. Their current owner Maksym Krippa is rumoured to have made the biggest rise in net worth thanks to GG BET (biggest bookmaker in Ukraine and one of the biggest in Russia before the war started).
afaik his biggest projects, after navi, are a hotel in the middle of Kyiv and STALKER 2(game featured on Xbox E3 a few years ago). I am pretty sure that before the war there were plans to create a cyberarena in the nearby hotel, but with them buying a 2nd one pretty much in the same district, I feel like we might possibly see an esports event in Kyiv (when the war ends, ofc)
i have no bias in this situation as long as the 2Game players end up in franchised thats ok with me and as long as 2Game can fiancially support their players i personally dont care if they are in tier 1. im also not saying other orgs in tier 1 havent done sketchy things (MIBR also is allegedly using riots money to fund their csgo team) im just raising the points does 2Game even want to relocate and does riot want to have 2Game in their tier 1 league. both of which are defiantly valid points with no clear solutions.

yeah sadly they even tried china as well after that, hope NIP/PaiN maybe SK (no idea how popular they are in Brazil since their insane CS days) get it if any org is needed, imo its good to see "unknown" orgs join and create their history from Valorant and not another game so i hope 2G keep their spot
