NIP disbands European roster, plans move to LATAM

UPDATE: Dmitriy "dimasick" Matvienko has revealed that he will be joining the team as their fifth member for their matches in the Red Bull Home Ground #2 main event.

This announcement comes just as the roster took first place in the Open Qualifier of the second Red Bull Home Ground, securing the roster a spot in the main event a few weeks ago. The main event is set to begin within the next few days, despite the team having only four players plus Dmitriy "dimasick" Matvienko, who recently revealed that he had joined the final iteration of the European Ninjas in Pyjamas roster. dimasick had been inactive from FunPlus Phoenix FunPlus Phoenix Inactive SUYGETSU Dmitry Ilyushin Zyppan Pontus Eek ANGE1 Kyrylo Karasov Shao Andrey Kiprsky ardiis Ardis Svarenieks since he was placed on the team's transfer list in late August.

This announced expansion to Latin America is not the first venture into the region for Ninjas in Pyjamas. They currently have an incredibly prominent Brazilian Rainbow Six Siege team that is among the best Siege teams in the world. That team recently took first place in the Six Invitational 2021 back in May.

According to Yaroslav "Jady" Nikolaev, the Red Bull Home Ground #2 main event will be the last event the team will play under the Ninjas in Pyjamas banner. All players have already announced via their respective Twitter accounts that they are looking for new opportunities.

I think they will try to buy some of these top players. Because Nip is European org the conversion rate favors them alot so they can pay big salaries and buyouts. They can also easily become the top team in brazil if they get these players and they will gain more fans if they do that. From my time on this website, I have only seen 2 other people with Nip flair but if they make BR superteam they will have literally every brazilian supporting them.

I expect at least aspas since he is FA and that they buy at least two top players from the existing brazilian teams.

Man he is not Hacker, he has already played several championships and I think he has played until LAN.

If NIP hires him, he will go for free without having to pay anything, that alone would be great and also since he appeared in the competitive scene he is considered one of the best alongside MW, HEAT and SACY.

If he is hired by NIP they will want to hire just 1 more duelist, I think this other duelist is HEAT and the others maybe can be SACY playing as Initiator (sova,skye), MAZIN as Controller and KHALIL as Sentinel and maybe a sixth player. This is the team that I think would be great for NIP to hire. If NIP contracts HEAT, the MW will be contracted by Vivo Keyd to try to replace it

As it was in R6, we need foreign investment for our players to shine, and as someone who watches the scenario well here, I can tell you that there is not much difference between the scenario of R6 and Valorant, maybe just the experience in LAN.

If they can get a good roster, they'll develop more in Brazil, it will probably cost less for them since the salaries in brazil are probably lower than in europe and they will possibly have more visibility since they have more chances to qualify for international events in a less populated region.

It is really unfortunate for the europeans players, but could very well be a great business decision.

Salary wise in Brazil is much lower than in the EU. A superstar like Heat, mwzera or Sacy probably makes a maximum of 2k dollars. If I had to guess, NIP former Valorant roster should earn at least 1.5/2k dollars, so they can be really competitive here. Nowadays, the Brazilian currency, Real, is undervalued so the new NIP Valorant operations will be much cheaper

That part was something that was debated on a bit tbh. The announcement says LATAM, but in the press release it says:

We want to build a sustainable ground for many years to come, and we’re planning new headquarters in the region to start off a full-scale Ninjas in Brazil division

So we figured it'd just be best to use LATAM since Brazil geographically is part of the Latin American region, despite LATAM and Brazil having their own respective circuits for VCT

We are leaving in the poorest era Brazil has ever been, the dollar is at a high of R$6,00, while our minimun wage is fixed in R$1.100,00. An Euro based org can pay at least 6 times more with ease, if we compare the conversion and minimum wage maybe even more, 15 times a BR orgs salary without hurting their pockets. Meaning that if Nip wants to, they can grab the best players in region and put them in one team.

but the main reason is that they know our region is the one with highest potencial to equal forces with EMEA and NA to win championships... cause in R6 the BR scenario is INSANE and is considered the best one rn (NiP has a BR team just same as TL, FaZe and MIBR)
