The best duelist of 2021 is likely Derke (with yay VERY close in #2 and TenZ/cNed #3/#4 in any order).
The best duelist of 2022 is yay by FAR, with aspas #2, and probably duelists like jinggg/Derke/Cryo vying for #3/#4/#5.
The best duelist of 2023 so far has been Derke, with a ton of duelists vying for the top 5 around him (aspas, zmjjkk, jinggg, etc.).

That being said, I'd say the top 5 duelists of all time (so far) has been this:

Yay
Aspas
Jinggg
cNed

Yay's complete dominance over 2022 can't be understated, but he's been snubbed from being able to show himself in 2023. On the other hand, Derke has shown consistent superstar performances over 3 years. Aspas has shown similar dominance as yay, but with strange lapses in his performance that put him below the other two (imo). There are a WEALTH of great duelists right under this top 5 (ardiis, Cryo, TenZ, Scream, F0rsaken, Zmjjkk, Something, etc.) who could possibly steal a slot within the next year.

As a tl fan,he was absent from international events in 2021 and only had 1 in 2022. Since we are considering all time, sayf shouldn't be here over ppl like cned and yay who may have fallen off now but have been present in the scene for the vast majority since the inception of vct

His best ever at an international lan was top 6, all the players I listed above him had higher peaks as a team. Individual skill is definitely there, accolades are not. Just wait for his team to make a good run and he will be in conversations... skill wise he's definitely better than Ardiis...

sure it depends on what you're looking for tho, i'd weight recent performance higher though because competition is way tougher recently but if we're talking just contributing to grabbing a trophy i get that, maybe some people are weighting their mechanics, which is why i gotta put him up there

Yeah but for a game that has not been out for more than 3 yrs,we look at the cumulative and kangkang was literally not present in 2021 which brings down his average performance overall. It doesn't matter if it's for trophy or not, it's for their individual performance. So both kangkang and sayf,who have been on fire recently will miss out
