According to George Guesses, the players like vanity and wanted him to stay, so did vanity and the money wasn't the main issue, that leaves the coach which George strongly hinted at.
I dont get this point since its vanity AND mCe who are responsible for that; a coach can and HAS to pause to add input should the igl/the team be struggling in that department
So if you think that 1 game where the entire team had exactly 0 clue on what to do makes Vanity a bad igl then the same applies to mCe too
Healthy way of judging people for sure
real question is why would he kick vanity for a T2 igl that couldn’t even qualify for VCL..
breaking the core of vanity leaf and xeppaa just doesn’t seem like the right move, kicking yay is understandable (mutual decision - yay has a different mindset but has a small agent pool) but i don’t understand dropping vanity.
There was highly likely something that came out of yay that indicated that he probably didnt want to be on the team. C9 were probably willing to work with his high pay cause they thought the team would be insane but they soon realized that the skill of a player isnt everything and that attitude towards the game has a lot of impact towards all the others on the team
I was saying this in sliggy's stream when it was all going down. There was a report on Universo Valorant, a spanish stream with the reporter with Alejandro Gomis(@anonimotum), apparently he is/was(not too sure) a well known league reporter who only reports on stuf that were only 100% true a leak or true, and he joined the call and in spanish basically said that, "hay dos players con los cuales hasta donde yo se, no han estado contentos con el rendimiento. uno ha sido yay y el otro vanity" you can google translate if u want but basically he said, Yay and Vanity have not been with the performance of the team, which already suggested there was internal disagreements. then later on, one of the other people on the show , said that He's known mCe for about 7-8 and talking about how knowing him, he thought that whenever mCe can, "valyn in, vanity out". he used more vulgar words but I'm not to say them here. It was all in spanish, I can show a clip of the first thing he said that I talked about, but I think they deleted the rest of the vod or it just disappeared. But yeh, knowing spanish has an advantage ehehhehe. But on a real note, from this, I kinda already thought that this was the most likely case, Cause vanity salary def couldnt have been THAT high, and after geddess confirming that all the players wanted him to stay, can only leave 1 option.
Also according to that same geddess clip, it seems mCe wanted Yay to stay and the rest, I thought it was a mCe and the team wanted yay to leave but Ig it was all just a money problem and a problem with vanity. Here's the clip for anyone who wants to translate or any spanish speakers.

how did this team get franchising and optic didnt? that core was goated and franchising destroyed that team in so many ways. The best player on that team is a free agent who got kicked after one mickey mouse tourney, the others are haggling and their clutch master is going to a streamer org who focus on content/memes than results. franchising did improve the T2 scene and put some light on it but the best NA team results wise should've been protected in place of C9.
This is a case of typical lazy NA players wanting to keep their IGL cuz he's not sweaty AF about things. yay is out because he wants to be sweaty AF, not into the loosy goosy style of vanity. vanity is out cuz someone (mCe) in NA finally being a boss and saying u know what, being unstructured is not a pathway to consistent success, so take a hike bye bye.
Good move by c9 to get rid of vanity, sends clear message to rest of the team, who together cost them their best player. Shame c9 couldnt have seen it all coming, or maybe just had wishful thinking that it would get better(hint: it didnt)
