trmnl [#3]lack of liberties for lgbt women minorities etc.
bro masters tokyo was 2023, and champs seoul was last year, we arent talking about that anymore
i said this in another thread but i will copy paste it here
"they are accused of committing many human rights violations which include but are not limited to modern slavery, women's rights, restriction of free speech and war crimes. they are also associated with extremist groups allegedly, idk how much validity these allegations have. despite this, they still maintain close ties with many western countries including the US."

That's terrible
I would put that 4th point as 1st but this community as a generalization doesn't care about the treatment of minorities (and in this case also women)
Excluding any moral reasons the tournament is kinda ass.
AnguAngu [#8]
- most likely the competitive integrity will be shit (burnout)
- production is way too packed for games to be seen all live
- not fully run by valorant producers (shit production and watching)
- ewc is funded by a government that treats women as second-class citizens

Burnout when the team that played the most matches since franchising starts average 2 a month is crazy

and in this case
you can delete that part, at least half of all VLR users seem to genuinely believe women and LGBT+ should be second-class citizens, just by looking at the kinds of threads and comments that pop up during GC Champions.
column1 [#9]Excluding any moral reasons the tournament is kinda ass.
- It’s an invite only tournament meaning competition will be highly varied (not necessarily the best teams from each region)
- The event happens right between stage 2 and masters Toronto meaning that the top teams may not participate.
- It has bo1 games in 2025.
Bro came here with the inside info, knows that its invite and bo1 before everyone
Liwus [#12]Bro came here with the inside info, knows that its invite and bo1 before everyone
bruh this was published at the same time as the partner teams

The article on vlr says it’s bo1, bo3 and bo5 games. Also from what I remember last year it was an invite event with a few open qualifier slots, and I have doubts on how they could run a qualifier with how bad of a time it is in the vct schedule.

"The announcement does not include information about which games will be played as best-of-ones, best-of-threes, or best-of-fives."
This means we got bo1s the same way it means all matches will be bo5s.
It is simply saying that they dont have that information yet
Also, even if they had a valorant event last year and it was invite, it doesnt mean that it would be invite again
geospliced [#17]I know the reason but still. Teams I like are going to get the chance to gain extra funding and the players I support will have a better life because of it.
And we get to watch more valorant, such a win

Nah it's just that western media doesn't report on it usually and if they do it's usually on the US/Saudi backed side. I'd bet most Americans don't even know Yemen is having a civil war
