Why are people so low on DRX this tournament when they easily have the most mechanically gifted players and the most experienced coaching staff of any other roster.

Its not crazy to say that Champs 2024 DRX and G2 were of similar strength, DRX might have been better by a small margin.
DRX has had clear upgrades and still people think wont make it past swiss.

And those saying G2 looked better during kickoff, they played in 2 completely different regions with different playstyles. Against the faster paced pacific DRX were dragged down in the mud and still came out on top while being tested by pretty good teams against different playstyles of Nongship, GENG and T1.

G2 were only tested in the Grand finals against SEN.

How is it that G2 are the clear favorites and DRX are a bottom 4 team.

Also lets talk about Vitality, How are they top 2 when they clearly came out of the weakest region, I understand the player quality on the team being exceptional but having them so high just based on that when they didnt even face strong opposition is crazy. T1 easily has a similar quality of players in terms of firepower and experience, the only place I have seen them in power rankings is number 8

I also want to talk about people saying Americas being the best region,

lets list the top 6 teams in each region
Americas: G2, SEN, MiBR, KRU, LOUD and LEV
Pacific: DRX, T1, GENG, Talon, Nongshim and DFM
EMEA: VIT, TL, TH, FUT, FNC, BBL
China: EDG, Trace, BLG, DRG, FPX, XLG

is Americas really better than Pacific here?

drx doubt comes from experience of people being excited for drx only for them to choke and get owned + they have 2 rookies that most people haven't heard of + people saying apac is a weak region overall + drx changing roster spots every few months but keeping the same coach

not saying i agree with this i got drx beating sen but this is the general reasoning behind why people dont believe in drx

freeing is pretty well known in Tier 2, he's been frying there for years, DRX finally got a good initi player with him so it was a big upgrade even on paper. APAC is also a more top-heavy region than others (such as EMEA and CN which only really have 2-3 good teams, CN really only has TE), also DRX had 2 rookies last season and still made top 6, almost beating Heretics, and with Termi being one of the best developmental coached OAT (Made BuZz, Mako, Flashback, BeYN), I'm more surprised that people had such little faith

Comparing 2024 champs DRX to G2 is a bit silly, G2 underperformed at champs and have made a big upgrade.

Mostly the take of SEN > DRX comes from DRX not facing good Tejo teams and their competition not knowing how to deal with Tejo comps. Both are valid points but it's undeniable that DRX looked better overall than SEN in kickoff (better coordination, fundamentals and firepower imo). International experience also plays a part in the DRX ranking.

T1 looked kinda lost in a lot of their games and were HARD carried by their firepower. VIT exceeds T1's firepower and has better cohesion but you're 100% right about the lack of competition in EMEA.

Anyone saying Americas is the best region has only watched G2, I think G2 beats any pacific team but pacific has FAR less glue than any other region.

I agree that VIT might be overrated and I was not impressed by their match against TL, and I personally have DRX as #4 for Bangkok, but I think that saying they look to be on par with G2 is a bit of a stretch to me. Not that its impossible for DRX to be better, but from what we know so far, G2 look to be the better team, at least from my perspective.

Region by region, it really depends on what you are looking for. I think that Americas has the best two teams, with G2 and SEN(who I have right above DRX but basically 50/50), and then a group of teams that haven't shown consistency, but have really high ceilings that can qualify them for internationals (100T, NRG, LOUD, LEV, KRU, MIBR). But then the region does also have multiple teams that are not good (C9 and EG), and some that suck (Furia and 2G).

I think Pacific has a similar breakdown with DRX and T1 at the top, then GENG, Talon, NR and RRQ are all teams that fall into the "high ceiling contenders to make internationals". The rest of the teams either look mid (DRM, PRX :(, GE, TS) or bad (ZETA, BOOM). So I would say its very close but would lean Americas as of now.

This being said, no international matches have happened yet and everything I think is likely incorrect.
