Academy teams are going to be a game changer.
Whilst it wasn't the only thing which made EG in 2023 great, it certainly had a big role in their improvement.
Being able to try out comps and strats on demand is a huge advantage imo. You can schedule scrims whenever it suits you and you'll have the comfort of knowing you'll never need to play against them in officials.
I think the quality of play is going to definitely go up for the teams who decide an academy team is a good investment.

With that being said there are some glaring issues with the idea, first of all not being able to play in ascension is a huge blow, imo you should allow it but ensure another org can get the team if they win ascension

Academy roster need to be present in korea like main roster or else it will fail. Especially for Indian roster. Thats my opinion.

I actually think most teams will not have an academy at all

It's gonna be more prevalent in places like APAC.
Atleast RRQ, GE, TLN , T1 , FURIA , LEV are reportedly looking to open teams.

In regions like SEA it's a lot more beneficial because the costs will be lower.
Also helps teams develop talent in house and circumnavigate some of the contract jail issues.

Yeah probably, but in EMEA we'll be lucky to get more than 3

KC might be one of the few, but BBL just partnered with PCFIC so they ain't, and I doubt FUT will
And as far as I know KC hasn't broken the partnership with Zerance yet? Not sure

Yeah seems like very few academy teams.

KC is the only rumour I heard.

Some affiliate stuff seem to be in the works.
BBL have some sought of agreement in place with pcific.
And some loose rumours about TH and Dsyre.

Yeah unless it's KC TL/FNC or like a NAVI or a FUT I don't see anyone else having one

Exactly, especially for Brazil and LATAM, sure, they will not be able to scrim them, but that will allow them to keep a link with their grassroot, thats was really what lacked them
