Riot give up on Franchising pls

20 posts in a row on the front page are people being dropped/contracts not being renewed. You tried. It sucks. I'm not saying anything for myself I'm moving on to things that make me happier-but there's a lot of friends I have that want the dream and its just impossible. Rostermania will happen whenever big contracts end or big projects fail but its just EVERY TEAM. The worst part is this isn't the first tac fps coming from Riot-they have crossfire which is honestly fun(WILD but fun)-took nothing away from that. This game was made by ex-cs players-and they didn't seem to take anything away from how cs runs either.
Your innovation is fucking up people's lives. These are the people that let you sell shitloads of team bundles-and the ones that are trying to get ON those teams. You'd make more money exerting less control. Follow the dollar signs for all our sakes

So rosters can't change? People get dropped so people get signed more people gain jobs ultimately and this is how sports works. Without franchising this wouldn't change.

Is it me or I actually enjoy what franchised has brought, I do really do look to every game it brings every week. But the fact the game outside of that is so barren kinda sucks

i think theres a difference between what production can be and what franchising is responsible for

franchising is fine they just need to make tier 2 better.

but if you look in 2020-2022, the reason so many orgs were in the scene is because they were in it for the franchising system specifically, since there is no financial reason for to invest without some sort of franchise system in place. its the reason t2 has so little orgs now.

obviously its fucked up that people lose jobs at the end of the year but thats esports and its volatile and i think most if not all pros and aspiring pros know that

Yea because there were a lot of players that under performed? And they'll have to be replaced since rosters have to have at least 5 people and most of them aren't subs.

Rocket league, smash even, every valve game, Crossfire made by Riot, Im pretty sure the majority of esport games dont have franchising.

This is literally child argument. Valorant is more popular than all those games combined. Franchising works. Nobody cares about the players. This is all about our entertainment. Just accept it and move on.

From a perspective as a fan, I think franchising has brought higher quality games, they have been amazing for sure. I’m not a pro player, but I can sympathize with you as I can think about fighting for your job every day, and practicing and everything. Just to get dropped in a spam of one year or less, sounds really rough. But as a fan franchising has def been a boost to the games, but the off-season and T2 still horrible. In the end I don’t think enough fans care to bring changes as for them it’s a benefit

Im a bit confused what your problem is.
We have 220+ player currently fully pro in valorant. ~25 people currently being let go of their teams really aint that much.

We've had way more roster shuffles pre franchising as orgs joined and left the scene, trying to get past the open qualifiers into t1.
You could write a whole book about the amount of players NiP had for example and how/why they got dropped.
This isnt franchising this is esports.

And lets also not kid ourselves and pretend that Franchising isnt exactly what creates all these jobs. Because valorant isnt cs. We dont have the infinite gambling money glitch.
We have no grassroots. We have close to no sustainability anywhere. There is no way we could grow a scene that supports multiple thousands of pros if Riot wasnt pumping money into it.

Franchising has its problems (a lot of them tbh) but roster shuffles really isnt one of them.

league is riot's other game which is the biggest esport in the world.

there was an expectation for valorant by orgs that there would be a similarish system in valorant, which is why you saw so many orgs from 2020-2022, in the hopes that it would boost their chances to get accepted into the franchise system.

i mean, look at most of the t2 orgs who were never even competitive still apply to the franchise then leave after it happened. they were in it simply for the franchise since it is so financially relieving for the orgs involved.

those other games you mentioned are typically big investments that dont yield the same profit that a franchise system does.

Nice try. Escharts doesn't count Chinese views. Even without the Chinese views, Valorant still beats all those games.
And what's wrong with Chinese views? LoL has it and LoL is undeniably the best eSport right now.

Your argument makes no sense at all. It feels like you're coming at it from an emotional perspective rather than a logical one.

I feel like I just lost my last bit of hope for the game with these comments validating the reality of life that every player gets treated like an NFL kicker. You miss 3 kicks in a row and they're looking for someone else. This is not beneficial to the esport. The things that you are happy about are just-teams. The best teams in a game will always be tied to certain orgs. Franchising isnt responsible for you following storylines.

What makes you think that Riot is going to drop franchising? They're not Valve, for Riot the eSports side of their product is what brings in new players and fans to their game. The reason they have franchising in the first place is to max out their reach and potential. They specifically chose orga that have insane clout and fans. The point here to note is that they have made deal with the "orgs" not the pros themselves. They could give less shits about the players ( unless they have insane clout like tenz ofc ). They have made Premier system precisely to cut off tier-2 slowly, they're not here to lookout for players, but to increase their profits and Franchising is really good for them as expected

Unfortunately it’s gonna be like that, its a really hard reality or pill to swallow, because most people that watch VCT aren’t really at that level or even be at that level to comprehend what it’s like to be a pro player. For the scene as young as Valorant, it’s gonna be extremely tough to stay relevant especially when most winning teams are ones that have been formed very recently(only expecting being really EDG), and it doesn’t really help when most trophy winning teams fall short after a year or so. Sorry if I was part of the problem, but dawg you can’t let plats or golds get rid of the passion for your game. Get some rest or sum

My main issue is the teams that make these changes are the same ones that were making changes ages ago. and theyre probably gonna be the same ones making changes next year. and the main cores that dont fuck around are the ones that have actually shot up. Or made comebacks in the season.

Franchising has its flaws for sure, the biggest being that there is a very long off season and not a whole lot of outside tournaments. In general though I don't think the system is that bad. Its sorta like the NBA. 10 players to a roster, 30 teams, and a T2 league. A lot of great talent in the G-League similar to tier 2. People go up and down a lot. There really is no "perfect" system tho

What the hell are you even waffling about
You said "The game gets mid-level views with Chinese views", I said you're wrong, now you've malfunctioned and trying to move the goalpost or something.

Judging by your other comment, you want Valorant to be this friendly bantersome utopian scene where everyone gets paid fat paychecks and lives happily ever after. None of us want that to happen so hold that. Also, this just means Valo is turning into a real sport. Which is good!

lmao understandable but this was coming for anyone who knows how Riot as a company works. Unlike Valve Riot's main income comes from their flagship games and its eSports. They invest heavily in it and always cater to the mainstream to min max profits instead of doing something original.

Valve on the other hand, which i am familiar with, actually gives much less shit about CS because if CS were to die tomorrow they're still gucci because Steam exists alongside other products. Which is a blessing in disguise because they the community is what builds the game and Valve just tweaks things time to time instead of being in total control.

That’s the price for perfection, but just remember you can always hate the game, it’s your right dawg. If it be the last time you are here just know there are some fans that care for their players. So take care of yourself

I've been saying this from the beginning, but the harsh reality is that VCT viewers are mostly casual people who might not be as hardcore as in other esports scenes. These casual viewers prefer a good show rather than an actual legit competition. After all, no one would watch a long ass path for major main event amirite?

It looks like you can't even keep track of a conversation. The topic at hand was views. When I brought up other games the topic at hand was still views. You decided to suddenly not talk about it and go "Oh yeah that game? What about blah blah blah?"

Actually hilarious. I don't know if you came here thinking VLR will band up with you, pick up their pitchforks and start a gofundme or something, you were terribly wrong.
