I agree that there are a large number of issues that sadly go almost entirely ignored in Parliament. The chamber has honestly become a stage for Trudeau to flex his drama degree and for poilevre to show social science undergrads how to abuse Qualitative information with no sources in public forums.

There's clear corruption happening in the federal government, the stories that came out a few months ago were more than likely the tip of the iceberg imo.

That all being said, you must not know many Somalians (kinda crazy if ur from southern ON tbh), and I think you're a pathetic little shit. I've had plenty of friends I made over the last five years who were from other countries, and based on how you're talking, I'm gonna guess they'll be doing more for their friends families, and ultimately their country than you'll be accomplishing.

Fuck london tho fr

"I think you're a pathetic little shit"😭 Why? Cuz I made a facetious remark that I'd rather live in Somalia?

I think having a battle of "No well I've accomplished this, oh yeah? Well I've accomplished this". Is probably about the stupidest thing we could fucking do rn though so I'll leave it at yes, you're right, you and your friends will do more for this country because once my girlfriend is finished med school I won't be in this country, hope that helps.

And I'm from Vaughan not London, I dont even like this city either tbh

I lived in Texas most of my life. Since OP is college-age they'll be fine. It's the primary school systems that are going nuts with politics primarily

I love Texas dearly and it's my home but I would not want to live there in its current state and I'm happy I moved states for work

Vermont's only real problem is that its population is very very small, otherwise it's a lovely state and close enough in climate to Canada that it wouldn't be too unfamiliar

Countries don't create people, people create countries.

not entirely true though. your ancestors were lucky to be born in a country that was rich with recourses and food.

Privilige is a fact. You automatically have an easier life than those in poor countries. that doesnt mean you cant work hard and that you dont deserve things you actually work for. But being rewarded for the work of your parents is BS, you dont deserve that its a privilige.

  • your ancestors most likely didnt migrate from somewhere else to canada. they probably became humans in N-America and never had a reason to leave.

Privilige is not something you work for, that's what you don't get. You don't deserve anything because your parents worked hard, you didn't work for it. I'm not taking away credit from your parents but from you. Bc you didn't do anything to earn the privilige you have. you just slid out of your mother and thats it

"your ancestors were lucky to be born in a country that was rich with recourses and food".... and why were they lucky to be born there? Because THEIR ancestors made that country rich with recourses and food. European nature was maybe one of the most unfortunate environments for attempting to start some kind of big successful society, which was acknowledged many times through history by Asian and middle eastern empires.

  • they 100% did, They came from Scotland in 1750 - 1776

I have privilege that I was born with that I acknowledge that I didn't directly earn, and privilege that I've earned so far in my life. I'm saying I don't have "too much" because all of it was earned... Whether 2000 years ago by my ancestors, or by me. Which I'm grateful for, hence why I take pride in their history.

are you dumb? people dont make countries rich with recourses... they are something that is naturally there. You think your ancestors pumped oil into the ground, put coal or iron veins in the ground? So yes if there were recources there your ancestors were lucky. They could use those things to grow food, livestock and such.

i cant check this nor do i know how you did but fine.

You still have too much privilige. You still didn't do anything, the people before you would still have the privilige of living in a country rich in recourses.

Also you say you take pride in their history but you also say you want to get the fuck out of the country where your history is?

Do you truly believe that Northern Europe was good for natural resources relative to India, the Middle East, China, South America, Africa, etc? And my second question is, why is it that now Europe and North America are the richest in the world? I just want to see if this conversation is even worth having.

Even ChatGPT ranks Europe prior to imperialism as the worst for natural resources lol.

I don't, but you can just ignore what we've went over and backpedal into repeating urself if u want.

I'm not sure how me wanting to move to a neighboring country for the betterment of my life and eventual kids lives means I'm abandoning or putting my ancestry behind me... They came to Canada from Scotland because it was gonna be better for them and their children. Isn't that like the whole point of immigration? Moving somewhere better because you want your future family to have a better life? Wouldn't that be more leaning into appreciating your lineage? lmfao

I mean i was talking about North america not europe since you live in canada. None the less people still dont create recourses out of nothing.

chatgpt as a source is just lazy

a fact is a fact

you are leaving a country your ancestors supposedly made great. Yet you want to leave that place, that's not cherishing your history. especially since there arent that many countries that are that much better to live in then Canada. which is why it's basically not respecting your lineage. just accept you are priviliged (i asked Chatgpt and they said yes so there's that since you used it)

Yeah, but North America's success is only ever possible following the success of Europe... Obviously.

They don't create them out of nothing, they create them out of outsourcing what they don't have through economic ventures, whether it be through colonialism, setting up trade routes, exploration, etc. All things that depend on the people and not on the land they live on.

It wasn't as a "source" it's just a commonly known fact and I used it as quick supporting evidence because refuting that is just silly.

You can call anything you believe with your whole mind to be a "fact" but fathom it or not, an idea you believe that depends completely on how you view the process of your successes is 100% subjective to how you view the world.

Yes my ancestors made Canada great, but just like 200AD Macedonia, 400AD Rome, the 1800s French and Dutch, the 1450s Byzantines, etc. All good things come to an end through the loss of what made them great in the first place. I cherish the history of Canada so much so that I want to move to America because it still has remnants of the principles that made Canada great in the first place, and I want to live somewhere that feels more how Canada should/did.

Moving has nothing to do with not appreciating your lineage. That's like telling an African immigrant they can't retain their culture nor appreciate it because they wanted to have a better life for themselves and their children lol. Under that idea no country would ever exist and the whole world would be stuck in a limbo of no culture, no movement, and no progress. You aren't very smart but it's all good.

Was a good conversation, a likely wasteful one but I hope you can learn to be more intellectually honest with yourself... It's fine to feel I'm "privileged", but not to base those feelings on supporting points that are either wrong, or just dont make sense. GG bro but unfortunately you lost 13-0
