Verno wasn't on G2 though...
Part of the struggle is with Valorant being a Riot game, so for many casual fans they’ve most likely seen LoL esports and their ecosystem. This is also probably their first fps they’ve watched so seeing Korea dominate in the first split of APAC and securing a masters trophy as well as Asian teams winning the last two internationals prior, they probably see parallels and start speculating from there. Too early to tell since there’s distinct parity at the end of playoffs but in terms of looking at winners of each event only that’s what most casual fans hone in on.
Ngl I didn't expect all 4 Korean teams to be pitted against each other in the 1st week.
That was 3 years ago, let it go man...
Dude it's the beginning of the year; where teams are currently at right now isn't their ceiling nor their floor, they can always improve or regress. Otherwise EDG wouldn't have won at Champs last year going off from their results at Madrid if this was true.
a lot can change between 2 splits and masters, years only started.
He chose to extend his contract, its not c9 forcing him to be jailed there.
Where did you hear about roster changes?
Yeah, Lebron is referred to as LeGM and LeCoach since he would force his teams to conform to his ideas and roster changes, here Aspas holds all the keys so the comparison is on point.
So going the FNS 2024 route?
Yeah JohnQT went to university in Canada before going into valo in NA.
I want to say the source is a satire poster, but then again he's hit the clock right several times this year ironically so who knows.
SEN really is living rent-free in your head.
Think you should go to TEC and help Rb get his first international first.
That's one expensive payout.
Dude is still trying to build chemistry with lesser defense than the Mavs and is returning post-injury, it will look rough no matter what. If I were to use a similar example, Harden when he first joined the Clippers last year went 0-6 at the beginning iirc before they started winning. Just give it some time, this is the expected rough result when adapting Luka who's his own system.
EDIT: Mentioned Harden since Harden and Luka as players with similar playstyles and playmaking.
honestly those stats are really good (minus the lack of shooting) if he's just facilitating as the floor general while trying to get the team chemistry going.
if we use the LoL tournament from last year, the teams that make it to Masters Toronto would be invited to the EWC, which they can choose to decline. I'm not sure what happens if teams decline, since all the LoL teams invited last year went.
DRX probably 2-0 Sen with Zekken sick/out for this match
Good thing this is a video game and not a martial arts exhibition.
they got a mil off of Tenz's buyout iirc, so it wasn't the worst roster move for c9.
Where did you hear FNS never wanting to play with Rossy?
Its still funny given that everyone believes that these are the best possible teams we could've sent anyways (the actual top 2 of each region) yet kekw the small size of the event.
They're looking like c9 2.0 at the moment with the roster shenanigans...
Dude if this ends up following the NRG trajectory from last year, I'll be crying from laughter.
Honestly I would like to see Trace win to prove China isn't a 1 team region.
If we go by LoL last year, the EWC would give an invite to the teams that qualify to Masters 2; teams are allowed to accept or decline the invitations.
I will say current kickoff Zellsis is at least on par with BeYN based on what he's shown in the last two matches vs MIBR and G2.
Current Sen and current DRX are quite different from the past year with fundamental shifts in their rosters, I would just wipe the slate clean and see how they fare during this match-up without relying last years performances. As far as I'm concerned this is the only 1st round match-up that feels like a genuine 50/50
Zellsis looks different man, I don't think Ethan can take on the Aspas-slayer.
Wait you're rating TL this low after seeing what TL is doing to VIT atm?
Im happy that Patitek and Keiko are getting some respect at least.
Dude you're making Sen fans look bad, practice some humility man.
Its fine, there's still 2 more internationals, hopefully they'll rest and regain their mental and prep during the break.
Probably had an idea to use it for Lunar New Year.
Zellsis had a life game of his life today.
Think most Sen fans are just happy that Sen has a really high chance of making Bangkok now, don't need to piss in their cheerios.
I saw what LEV Aspas did to Madrid winner Sen in Split 1, im almost certain todays Aspas could diff current Sen.
G2 mostly kept the same chemistry and only had to integrate 1 new player that was widely considered one of the best possible upgrades they could've made. Prior to this change they were already considered a top contender, this only made them better. Meanwhile every other team in the league made sweeping changes across the board, at bare minimum switching in 2 new players and having to rebuild synergy and/or swap around roles. I would look towards Split 1/2 to see if teams get better since teams are still trying to get it together during kickoff.
EDIT: I forgot that 100T only changed 1 player, but they seem perpetually cursed in some way or fashion during kickoff.
I just honestly hope Sen doesn't roll over and die vs G2, so that this doesn't become a 1 team region.
