i just dont believe that lol
even if he did, it would take 3x or even 4x more time than someone with a proper setup; a time investment that most indians would be killed before being allowed to spend on a video game
jellal1 [#47]1 team vs 11 teams yea pretty fair comparison. They dont even have a proper esports scene and you expect them to deliver just cause they have a huge population? kinda dumb logic
even before franchising they can't compete with any SEA/KR teams and they got smacked in ascension too

Philippines what? You want to compare PH and INDIA? PH been in International Events (TEAM SECRET) unlike INDIA 0 chance at all and PH was the first VCT PACIFIC (VCT APAC BEFORE) winner which is BREN ESPORTS. We have Cryo and Zekken too. Still respect for India I hope they improve next year.
xelto1 [#56]India doesn't even take sports seriously except cricket ( which is one of the most boring shit I have ever seen ) and u expect them to have the luxury to even think about eSports that's wild
bro even pakistan who dont take esports seriously produced player like SumaiL the TI winner, Arslan Ash the GOAT of Tekken, ATIF arguably the 2nd best tekken itw rn & Khan

good for them but it's impossible for someone to have a successful career in esports here unless you're financially privileged and dedicated to the game

Imagine riot invested in other south asian countries. South Asia Challengers is basically Challengers India.
BRUH we are barley a country, tf did india do to u?
95% of indians can't even afford a pc setup that can push 144 hz and we don't have the bang culture of countries like Korea cause 1. Most of parts which are made overseas are atleast 10-20% more expensive in india, 2. Pc cafes in india have to operate on razor thin margins due to lack of spending power amomg a majority of the population and is not very profitable as a result
And to top it all of most Indians still think of eSports as a joke, stigma abt gamers are still very prevelant here, if u ever say "I want to be a gamer to your parents" your going to get no support whatsoever, your entire extended family will ridicule and mock u for doing a "no status job", ur family will literally try and keep ur existence as low profile as possible
And then u compare us to china, where they atleast have the infrastructure and existing eSports reputation to maintain the gaming scene, RENT FREE IN UR F**KING HEAD MY FRIEND
Indra420 [#29]excuses chinese schools and studys are way harder than india they literally have gaokao which is known worldwide for being the hardest exam. yall r jus bad
Not even excuse. We get to play the game because we join college and parents provide us laptop for studies. We game part time in that. Only few can get exposure about esport before they turn 20. This is the case for not all but majority of indian youth.
IZAYA_ORIHARA [#63]Imagine riot invested in other south asian countries. South Asia Challengers is basically Challengers India.
man I think Pakistan has so much potential I really hope a PK team comes through from Premier

Aayan [#66]man I think Pakistan has so much potential I really hope a PK team comes through from Premier
I googled long time ago. There is lots of problems. They belong to mena region or something not southasia for india pak conflict afaik.
There is so many southasian nations like bhutan, nepal, sri lanka, myanmmar, maldives etc.
But from little af things I got from following challenger SA is all of the teams are indian with indian players while the whole thing taking place in india.
No will give a fudge about val in SA except india ig.
unravelvivek [#62]good for them but it's impossible for someone to have a successful career in esports here unless you're financially privileged and dedicated to the game
I'm not dissing INDIA I'm just replying to the salty comment towards PH. Trying to compare India to Ph without knowing in terms of achievement in VCT Pacific PH is up there unlike INDIA. I don't know about the situation of INDIA , but if you are talking about financially privileged PH is also a poor country.

I can't speak for the other SA countries.
But a suggestion I saw that would be really good is to make a league for central Asia, It would include Mongolia, all the stans, maybe the Caucasus and it would give Pakistan a place.

there's a reason that event ^ is called "south asia challanger" and not "india challanger" but i prefer not to speak any further

dandann [#49]This is not a fair comparison no? It's not the size of the population of a country that is important but it's the size of PC owners and PC cafe population that is important. China have the biggest population that owns a PC and furthermore they have a PC cafe culture just like South Korea.
This ☝️
FDWC- [#45]i don't mean to do any of that 😭
well you made this post so you did. this is valorant, not real life.
china vs india might be a problem irl but there isnt and never was any rivalry between china and india in valorant. and dont come with a stupid ass argument like population, that doesnt mean shit.

someone with a brain
fardeengg [#11]indian esports is not huge in pc lot of people are into mobile gaming
It's just the Same in other region in SEA like Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines where mobile gaming is more popular than PC still they are improving in PC ESPORTS scene. I don't know about INDIA situation probably they just need to scout a good player in INDIA. There is also issue about Valorant Esports Scene in Poor region the Franchising I don't like the idea of Riot adding the franchise shit. "Because poor countries are heavily affected by Riot's franchising, countries like Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and India only have one team representing them in VCT APAC. As a result, only a few players from these countries get the spotlight and international experience, making it difficult for them to improve. Imagine, a country only has 5-6 players gaining international experience in VCT APAC, even though they have many pro players with potential and skills. Remember Thailand's XERXIA Esports? They had an impressive run in Valorant Esports internationally before franchising, but once franchising started, Thailand suddenly disappeared from the international scene. Unlike wealthier countries like Japan, South Korea, and China, which have their own VCT, their pro players have more opportunities to compete internationally and gain experience and exposure. This is why Riot's franchising has had such a negative impact on Valorant Esports in poorer countries. Unlike before, when two teams from each country in APAC could represent their region."
Er3ngenes1s [#16]but has more population than india
quality of population Vs quantity of population
NOROTU [#68]from bangladdesh and ill also say the same thing india is trash
where is your team bainchod?
fardeengg [#11]indian esports is not huge in pc lot of people are into mobile gaming
Thats why mobile Val can be a gamechanger in India
vollizie [#89]Well now I'm confused

Aayan [#28]idk man thats like comparing the US to Egypt. China is a lot richer than people think
Fair, but Indian GDP is one of the fastest growing in the world, in 10 year they may take Chnia place ecnomically speaking
FDWC- [#92]when he was 4 he moved to the philippines till he was like 5 and a half then moved back to the states

Then someone gotta break that parent culture (curse) and prove that they are wrong. India just need a good example like winning internationally in ESPORTS and become successful it was the same here before in PH where parents thinks ESPORTS is bullshit but year by year because of DOTA 2 PH team got spotlight in International (TNC) they become the example. Slowly adults acknowledge that ESPORTS scene has future. Still MOBILE gaming is more popular here coz you know PH is a POOR country too, majority can't afford PC. But most of household here have FIBER WIFI it became cheaper unlike before. I don't know about INDIA internet situation is FIBER WIFI expensive in India?
