best player in the world?
Here is something to note, not a single NA player in Top 10 hs%. Sick is only 13th which is quite surprising as many believed NA has superior aim. Five EU players have scored above Sick even though all five have played more rounds. TenZ is on 32nd place with his 20% compared to top 1 ScreaM's 33%. Supraz supraz
HS% is kind of a useless stat tbh. Apart from the fact that it favors vandal > phantom players, people with consistently high headshot percentages are often not the best fraggers; there's not really a direct correlation, its just a playstyle thing.
I.e. look at aproto in NA val (38% all time) - hes really good, but theres many better fraggers in the region despite him consisntely having the highest hs %. Or look at scream in csgo, always known for his headshot percentage but was also known to be inconsistent and unreliable
Hold on your horses, brother. Ngl previously, I too considered hs% as not too important as I've never looked at fps esport data properly. After a quick glance at that linked above stat page for the lan, I was able to spot quiete significant correlation between ACS and or ADR and HS%. However, a clear correlation exists only when a player choses certain agents that are typically played with rifles. So say Zellsis who is currently the best Killjoy in the game would only partially fall into category of pure riflers as he influences his ADR and ACS with utility, shotguns etc damages. Same applies to those who often use operators or their ults as duelists(i.e. TenZ on Jett etc). It is quiete obvious picture and does not require any deep statistical knowledge. The only thing required is a proper sorting of non pure rifler agents out of the sample group etc (basically we need to establish sorting blueprint prior the analysis). But from my understanding the faster you delete each enemy team, the less damage you receive either from duel with that first enemy or the other one who steps in to trade. It will always correlate to how much damge you deal/receive which is our ADR is responsible and is one of the important statistics to measure your impact in the game.
For example, the player who you called inconsistent and unreliable - TL ScreaM - is in fact one of the best players, if not the best player of this LAN. He constanly plays rifles and holds highest HS% of 33 in the LAN which I assure you helped him to top score another important statistic - ADR of 190. Yep, pretty much it... the guy has best aim and highest damage per round on this LAN. This type of influencial players simply cannot be called unreliable or inconsistent. And plz who cares about the dead man walking game - csgo? Valorant has been with us for a year and things have been great so far.
Now, LG Aproto is exceptionally skilled player.... it is just maybe he is not in the right team or not the right agent for him? He is cracked and stands out nicely in NA(also a great dude) so let the org sort their laundry. But the best NA aim on this LAN, if looked from HS% perspective alone, is by far SEN Sick with 28% accuracy which is by the way a RIOT's interpretation of hs%. And as far as I remember Sick prefer playing with phantom. So he is very accurate with rifles as 28% across all his played rounds is pretty stable and reliable result. If Sick finds throgh experience or analysis that Vandal is more impactful for him then there is no problem in buying Vandal over phantom. I'd say we are in a development stage of Valorant metas regarding base mechanics. The metas will continue to change but some will establish for sure but only for certain play styles. Anyway, I'm unnecesarily draging my reply off topic. But in general I wanted to say that the picture is not always clear from the first look. You don't have to reply me btw
Nvm bro, in no way I was mad or smth. Just dag a bit deeper to express my opinion on those topics. And you are correct in that ScreaM went through some uncertain periods of his cs career but it's all in the past(for good). He is one of world's best Val player at 26yo with more to come.
If you are interested, I suggest you begin with closed tournamnets like Reykjavik which was also a first lan(no ping diff etc) then you could proceed to NA top 5 or 10 team or any other regions etc and then compare them to LAN. Like in case of Zellsis, you'd also need to understand the roles of each agents and their styles but you always can begin with just agent groups like groups of all Reykjavik Killjoys etc.
Wait, so by sorting VLR for HS%, you wanted to find who has the highest HS% - vandal or phantom players... right? and t2-3 stands for tears?
That inconsistency thing about scream is so overdone and overplayed.
During his most prominent time, when he was playing in G2, he was 7th best player in the world and the main reason was, and I cite “high round-to-round consistency”.
It may have been true in 2013, but people kept repeating it all the way into 2021 and it simply is not true.
Why don't you actually look at the stats that you posted? Derke has a higher ADR than Tenz and also has more First Bloods per round which shows that he is performing his role as entry fragger better than Tenz. The fact that Tenz has a lower ADR yet has more kills per round just shows that he farms eco rounds more, which you would know if you watch Tenz play - the man loves farming eco frags
Well, then all of the NA valorant scene will not be good. SicK and Dapr were bad in csgo too. TenZ was hyped but never managed to achieve any success. CSGO is a different game, ppl can be bad in csgo and good in valorant. Thinking that way, 100 Thieves should be the best team, because Hiko, Nitr0 and Ethan were monsters in csgo but Sentinels is better.
If you ask to people, more than half of them are gonna say cned is better than derke at knives too, not just OP. Also you dont know cned’s knife 1v5 ace in twitch rivals then, you should watch it. I think opponent had patitek and other pretty good players so dont underestimate it just because its twitch rivals. Ofc Derke was insane too but I still think cned was better overall
If Corona didn't happen Navi would take at least 1 major win, considering that we literally skipped 3 majors (Spring 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021). There is no way Astralis would win them all, they are too old and a bit washed up. And other teams are just not as good as Navi, let alone LAN environment which would cause Heroic / Gambit to choke.
lets be honest he may be the best jett but the best player is screaM right now, what is he doing with both the vandal and the phantom looks so so easy...every one of his kills was HS and he carried his team as a sage to finish 4th in the tournament..screaM is owning dude pls dont compare him with anybody else in this game!!
Link was the most valuable player on Liquid during the tournament, soulcas was excellent, jamppi was mostly consistent and good, krypix was good, and scream was consistently great. Scream didn't carry that hard, it was a team effort and he did more than his job, but he still didn't succeed while the other players in the conversation did.
tbh yes they would have been into the finals and most probably in the similar fashion. I don't know why people think its all tenz, they should really see that SEN pops off as a team. Its not like only tenz is carrying. No doubt tenz has a great impact but SEN as team is balanced which would give any duelist the confidence needed:)
