Report: Envy trialing replacements for kaboose

According to a report by George Geddes of Upcomer, Envy Envy Inactive Marved Jimmy Nguyen Victor Victor Wong crashies Austin Roberts FiNESSE Pujan Mehta yay Jaccob Whiteaker are reportedly exploring replacement options for Jake "kaboose" McDonald in their roster.

This roster change will be the first one that Envy will be exploring since October 2020, when the team released aKis and c4Lypso . Envy have kept their core throughout First Strike: North America and the multiple VCT North America events they have participated in. Their results have been impressive, netting a first place finish in the Stage 1 Challengers 2 main event and a third place finish in the Stage 2 Challengers 1 main event, but the team missed out on qualifying for Masters: Reykjavík in the Stage 2 Challengers finals by falling to Version1 Version1 Inactive in the 3rd round of the lower bracket.

A replacement for kaboose has not been determined since trials for the 20-year old's spot are still ongoing. It was also not revealed who the team was trialing.

Erm....... he would be a good replacement role wise (he plays a lot of raze and can flex over to sova if needed) but if envy had a report of then either trialing sinatraa people will start sharpening their pitchforks and it wouldn’t be a good look for nV

Brax seems like he just needs a chance to shine. NV has been one of the few teams to take down sentinels over challengers probs cause of FNS ideas. With brax i feel like they could be extremely strong.

Not sure why i got downvoted so much. In pro's his ACS on skye is 200. Many times he flops on skye. He's a very strong player but he should be on duelists

What I meant to say was that, before in matches he would often flash his own teammates not throw good info flashes, etc. But it is very obvious by looking at his stream that he has put in the time and effort into properly learning skye.

As much as I love Kaboose as a player, I think this is the right move for Envy. Ever since picking up Victor and Crashies Envy have had this weird carousel of duelist players, with Kaboose, Victor and mummAy all rotating through. By the sounds of it, mummAy may be moving over to controller full time (he's known for his Omen Op and was playing Astra for the team in recent games). We're likely going to see Victor commit to duelists (no more Victor skye lol) and see Envy pick up a new Op player who can one-trick Jett mostly.

Still I hope Kaboose gets onto a good team because he is a sick player.

Well tbf many teams in NA are starting to experiment outside of the "traditional" NA comp of 2 duelists, 1 controller, 1 sentinel and 1 intiator, mostly because of the Astra Viper meta, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them run some single or even no duelist comps if they wanna get really weird with it.
