Just following your example of a footbal match: you can still discuss about a certain rule being unfair, a certain rule being wrongly applied, a certain shit not being taken into consideration, or any other thing that would be up to debate. It doesn't really have to be that one-dimensional as "there should't be debate because RIOT decided X".

That's why I'm careful with my words and I said that RIOT is the same entity that not only establishes the rules, but also has the metrics to determine a judgement they themselves decided to investigate. You can question RIOT & everything you want, however the comment I replied to textually says "G2 should have a heavier punishment", sticking to RIOT's own rulebook which says that no, there shouldn't be a heavier punishment.

Agree with the fact, that they broke the rule, I think that was clear to everyone given the information available.

Depending on the depth of the investigation, if it is indeed true, that the only communication that happened between them did not provide information to the players and given the fact, that they committed this in the first open qualifier and not the second where they actually qualified, I think a warning is of a reasonable severity.

If they were to repeat offend with similar severity, they should be on thinner ice when it comes to punishment severity as these things don't "just happen" multiple times by accident.

It is the correct way to approach any violation to look at why the rule exists to begin with and therefore base the severity of the punishment on whether or not the intent was to give an advantage and whether or not it actually did give an advantage -- warning is fair in this situation.

If you have an inability to understand different severities of an action perhaps your opinion isn't necessarily one that should be weighed.
