This is beyond disappointing - there's no Riot login required for this one unlike Champs so the bots likely scalped it up so quick. I waited an hour to queue only for that blue little fucker to walk like 1mph across my screen for tickets to be sold in 8 minutes (most of which not even to humans).

Surely AXS and Riot re-release the tickets, this is just stupid

I'll add on because I'm a bit peeved - for Worlds Finals, Riot did have a Riot 2FA system! Tickets had to be purchased with an active riot account created before October 1st and must have had a record of LOL gameplay on it. So why was this not possible here? Why could we not get accounts verified? If we already know the venue is tiny as shit, why are we not trying our best to protect genuine fans (bc the VALORANT fanbase in the Ontario region is HUGE let alone the rest of the North Americans trying to come watch).

Dumb system. Not even dumb system, just poor management. They could've managed it fine, but they chose not to.

Pretty simple honestly, LOL is a way bigger game globally than Val. They implemented a system like that at the biggest tournament of the year, because they believed they'd still be able to sell out. The fact they decided not to do that for this tournament is simply because they don't believe it would be big enough to warrant it. If you think Riot's goal is to "protect" genuine fans, then i'm sorry but you're deluded. Attempting to make profit (I don't think these events are technically profitable, but idk) is the main goal. It always will be. If that means opening the door for bots to scalp tickets, then that's what it is.

The event makes no extra profit from resellers... only the resellers themselves make the extra money. They could've easily made a verification system for the last 3 games. It's the first and most probably only game in Canada where even USA east & west will want to come. The venue only has 4.5k seating spots. Even if LOL is bigger, they could've still managed this better.

It's not about extra profit; it's about guaranteeing sell outs. Sure, 5k seats could be sold out with a verification system, but the way I see it, they'd rather guarantee it. It's just common business practice, the more barriers you put in front of a purchase, the less likely it is that a purchase is made. Do I think its right? No, but to act disgruntled with this is just funny, like you're still going to watch the event.

dont buy them, at worlds last year there were tickets being resold for semis that just never got bought and went for as low as 15 dollars like an hour before the event started

those same tickets were listed at 500 dollars 3 months before

to anyone thinking of buying resale tickets DONT. Starve them out til the day of the event and you will see the price in the double digits as they are desperate to unload for some form of money to recoup

You're gonna wanna be in the city most of the time, while other areas in the GTA have some cool places, the city itself will be best, Yonge/Dundas is the major intersection of downtown, and the subway line is right underneath, I would look for places along the subway line, the further you go down the line, the cheaper places should be. You'll wanna visit downtown, harbour front and Chinatown imo, some of the better malls being Eaton centre, and Yorkdale, Our local theme park, Wonderland is also open as well, we have a lot of good Chinese, Indian and Fusion cuisine.
