actually awful experience right now.

I normally like plat chat but listening to tmv/bren/mimi vods of the t1 games is just not fun. it's just 3 hours of them throwing tantrums and calling any team t1 plays glue sniffers. I've never seen people so sour about being wrong about an entire region.

it's like they saw the only pacific team they ever bother to keep up with prx lose and all of the sudden the region is shit. in reality, pacific is better than ever before and has the most depth right now cause of the kr teams along with rrq/dfm/tln looking solid.

like go back and watch the last episode. bren rants about drx being shit and then unironically picks sen to win the tourney. they use historical performance to place zekken as the 6th best player despite looking mid in kickoff but not including meteor because of his recent kickoff performance. placing drx/t1 as the worst teams of the event below fucking trace.

they've always been biased against pacific but god has this event made it ever more clear. Sliggy has been much better this event for me cause he stays positive and unbiased

Bias towards the Americas is kind of reasonable tho, they were ahead of the meta(every other team in Bangkok copied comps from Sen and G2) and they looked the least scrappy. Pacific teams are always wrongly rated because the region's playstyle depends on player form so heavily that you cant predict any teams performance at all. I agree with you on calling every team bad narrative tho, almost every team has made at least 2 roster changes, there was a meta change 2 weeks before the kickoff and kickoff format is so punishing that you cant judge any team with 2 losses but they called every team glue apart from G2 and VIT this kickoff and its just disrespectful towards players who are just trying to survive in this new teams and metas. Every team is trying to find their identity, testing new roles and comps and trying to instill confidence early on the season thats why there were so many overpeeks and scrappy games this year but thats not enough to call them glue.

i think they were up on sen and americas simply because the grand final showed that sen didn't need to rely fully on being scrappy. ofc the mfs decided to be scrappier (and more ass) when they played in Bangkok. g2 has been glazed since shanghai (only reason the glaze wasn't that bad was cuz icy)

I mean, although they weren't technically the best team coming into the tournament, Platchat was completely underrating them and DRX before the tournament started. Collectively as a region, they placed Pacific at the bottom of their list of teams based on how good they're gonna do. And look at them now, T1 are making those frauds eat their words.

And T1 and DRX are new teams with volatile players and for T1 unproven coaching staff and as much as I hate SEN, we all know they can go on a run and have picked up safe players and have a proven coaching staff and zekken does step up in big matches so SEN winning the tournament is bren's bias and he is a sen fan asw but overrating them isn't outrageous. And PRX's mud is proven mud while T1's is not so much before now

i think the issue for me right now is just every stream feels like constant complaining. like somehow every team t1 plays must just be playing bad instead of maybe t1 just being good. it's perfectly fine to have t1 8th going into the event but you have to admit now that they are a good team. also the slander on drx was just bias not even in hindsight, they looked much better than tl/sen going in despite what bren said

i agree, and i think there are a few problems with the style of content. disregarding the fact that i personally believe both vitality and edg are overrated, the constant complaining gets annoying

it seems like they’re always looking for things to harp on the players about as opposed to just relaxing and enjoying the game, as seen by how they barely react when something cool happens

and their style of pickems, choosing everything based purely off map vetos, is awful, and it shows in how barely anyone in that group got more than 50% of their choices right lol

Hindsight Harry's STILL going off about this. Why were you watching these vods anyway?

People can be wrong, things can change, the world moves on. When even the Pacific talent they brought on weren't supremely high on the region it probably only cemented what they thought.

They don't take themselves super seriously anyway, and I think a panel full of Sliggy's a every analyst would get incredibly boring very fast. I like Sliggy, but sometimes you need more explosive, hot, or passionate takes to spice things up.
