Why is Zekken so inconsistent?

Is there something in his play style that makes him inconsistent? Obviously part of it is because sentinels themselves are inconsistent but honestly Zekken mechanics and firepower are comparable to people like Aspas and derke and yet he seems to lack their consistency even if his team is better than them. Perhaps sentinels should force him to be less of a hard entry and allow him to bait a bit more.

derke isnt a consistent fragger lol idk wytb

hes been the most consistent duelist since the game came out but OP is referring to firepower

he would top frag vs eg one map then go -10 the next, even when fnc were winning just not a consistent fragger im sorry lol

you can disagree as much as you want but aspas is essentially the only duelist that is consistent fragging

Derke only in 2021 had more international appearances than India as a region in the whole history of valorant.

Because duelist is that hard to be consistent, Derke and Aspas are just build different.

derke wasnt really consistently fragging when he was diving idk wym

obviously if fnc were stomping hed have good stats

the only duelist that was consistently top of the leaderboard was aspas 2023/24, because even in 2022 loud peaked when he was hard diving

+zekken is more comparable to jingg or jawgemo than aspas or derke

zekken is an animal on raze/neon and his jett was trending upwards at the end of last year. not only does he take space he usually gets his as well

got to cut him slack on yoru as those were his first games on it in the vct circuit and the playstyle takes getting adjusted to?

Last year he was able to hard entry alongside tenz who would give him secondary support. Plus util play from zellsis and sacy was top notch. Now since the team is new with different playstyle they are figuring out the timings. It was evident in the offseason where zekken would solo entry without any backup and would literally die there.

Zekken was more consistent than Derke last year. Don’t think he needs to bait either. Sentinels has more than enough fire power for him to just play the role.

aspas is a baiter and derke isn't consistent

where does this aspas baiter narrative come from

His narrative for being a baiter came from his numerous 1vX situations.
As a duelist he was the last alive on his team as a crazy high rate compared to his counterpart on other teams.

He also slowed down on hard entrying on Lev, compared to what he used to do on Loud.

Bro isn't even a baiter though. his playstyle just isn't the hard entry anymore. he's not like miniboo who'd run it down to make space, or like Texture who'd just sprint it down as Jett and somehow make it work. Aspas has always been a balanced duelist. He could go aggressive at times, but would also play a bit passive. People just overreacted to him, despite him being the main reasons Lev achieved anything last year.

he relies on his team to set him up a lot/follow up on entries so when sen struggle as a team zekken doesnt have the resources to excel

oxy on the other hand
