If 0 title wins + being made a fool off in the biggest stage is a good year for you i dont know what to tell you

that's why loud had a bad year in 2023 too right?

fraud regional win and they embarrassed themselves and made a fool of themselves at home pissing a 11-3 lead

and no title wins

With 2 downgrades, i think this was the best possible outcome for them other than tokyo(yeah that was embarrasing as fuck)

loud got a miracle excuse for their loss in tokyo in that eg and edg eventually became the world champions

that edg is very different from now edg, even the 2024 champs winning edg didn't really become the team we saw win champs until like, semis against SEN map 2 when they exploded

they were different vs lev and TH

sen vs edg was just a battle of mid with edg making so many mistakes on haven and sen struggling to adapt on lotus, sunset was a sweep tho

I agree with u on edg. Also, why tf am i being downvoted for speaking the truth. Im literally fns fan, yall americans need to put your bias aside and use your brains for once. Dont be like the brits with their british bias in every sport.

LOL yeah my man, losing literally ONE game + 3-0ing the final is a "fraudulent win", sure, you win this one! If anything, the fraudulent run was nrg's because how did they even get to the final just for saadhak to 1v4 ace their ass 💀💀💀

and yes, vct americas IS a title, its officially recognized by riot as one, shame on you if you dont like it, but its the truth

also theres no way you are comparing our loss to the greatest team off all time to nrg losing twice to the worst team of the tournament LOL what a clown

It was still a good year? second best regionally, making both internationals and a top 4 finish. that is a good year

I wouldnt call it a good year. The only successful event they had was tokyo and maybe americas. They were supposed to beat loud(with 2 downgrades from 2022) in lockin with basically the same optic core with som = marved and ardiis slightly < than yay. They also struggled hard in the early stage of reg season.

2 downgrades in smokes/best player of 2022 vs 2 downgrades in smokes/best controller of 2022

i dont think anyone had either of them as a clear favorite ngl, both were on even footing and ardiis is not slightly < than 2022 yay

100% agree it wasn't a "good" year tho

i dont see it being anything but a good year tho. sure it wasnt amazing or great but they were close to winning stuff. also they lost their 2 best players (marved and yay) so the overall expectations of them werent to dominate as they did in 2022.

#22

No? Expectations still remained for them. Maybe not to win internationals but to at least make top 3 in internationals. The expectation when they had their roster was that they could maybe win an international with some luck. They signed ardiis who was crazy in 2022 as well and som who was decent. There were questions about som on whether he could perform to standards nrg needed and in the end, ardiis and som practically swapped what was expected of them

#24

then what is considered a good year for that nrg team?

#25

To beat the teams they were supposed to beat in americas and not choke in groups at champs?

#26

^^^^

or alternatively, go to tokyo finals and its still fine to choke because at least they did something (prx 2022, NV 2021)

What would you then rate that year from 1/10?

"classic NRG"

the team literally was the 3rd best team at lock in in 2023, if half a second went the other way or fartdiis didnt throw one round they would have been playing drx to play fnatic (FNS never loses to drx with that team)

in americas regular season they played like shit early and still ended up gapping the 2nd best team in the world in EG, ended up finalisting and 2nd best team of America

Tokyo they lost to PRX by half a second, and based on NRG having EG's number there was a legit possibility that they would have beaten EG and possibly been 2nd at tokyo

Billy billy 💀💀💀💀💀

it aint classic NRG its 2024 nrg thats mid 80% of the year

NRG was good in Lock-in and Tokyo, fine. Americas they were good but incosistent. They beat EG when EG wasnt at its prime yet, you are delusional if you really think NRG was anywhere near peak Tokyo or Champs EG. My point still stands that they were bad when it mattered most
