tbh I want masters 1 = masters 2 just for consistency
but I would fw 16 16 24 heavy, it just sounds super expensive (i think champs format would have to change too cuz 24 isnt a clean power of 2)

for now I'll take 12 12 16 but hopefully in the future it gets larger
(8 12 16 is unacceptable imo)

Mater 1 = master 2 is a good idea to me.
I just want champion to be 2 times longueur than master to really make it feel different, it doesn't need to have 24 teams (Half of team qual would be weird but not that bad) Maybe no team should be eliminated if they have only 2 loss

My idea was a Euro style group stage, where you have 6 groups and the top 4 3rd place teams advance (in this case it could be tricky to determine without using mapΔ or roundΔ so maybe a playin with two groups of three and the top two from each group advancing could work)

I admit contrary to 24, doing a tournament with 12 is really hard but please not the best 3rd

What about 2 group of 6 ? top 2 in winner, mid 2 in looser, bottom 2 out ? Champ is 34 game, actuel master 12 is 24, and with that format that would be 40 so it will be too mush.
You have also the option to do like in rugby and foot champions league (This system need a name because it's not swiss and it's not round robin) : 1 unique group of 12, and you play 1 team in each pool, top 4 in winner, mid 4 in looser, bottom 4, out (28 games, 18 game in pool, 10 in playoffs)
Maybe being the Champions League would be the best system (But with the sum of point of opponent as a tiebreaker)

I like the idea of the first 2 masters with 12 and 16 teams.
BUT, 24 might be too mush, but I agree on one thing : Champions should be mush more longuer than master, really really long, so we can remember it more and give it more weight than a master.

But for 24 teams I have an amazing format : Swiss for 3 round, you end with 3 team in 3-0 already qualified in the top 8 and 9 teams in 2-1 that will have to play on BO to take the 5 remaining places (just save the 1-2 team with the best score)

8 Team Masters is a deliberate choice by Riot to minimize costs while making the challenging choice to give up expected revenue to expand the scene. This year it was held in Madrid, where Valo isn't as much popular and is more League focused. Next year it's Bangkok, the first time an international has been held in SEA since the 2019 MSI. I thought it would never be held in SEA again.

Would be neat, (especially for split 2), but still not sure if thats possible. To be fair I prefer the 2024 idea of making a full round robin with intragroup and crossgroup on both split (But it was DUMB to make cross before intra)

I dont know if they "stop caring about T2", they always choose to give organisation of T2 by external organisator.

Also I think it's good if they are ne esport bubble in T2 and if T2 stay amator
