Lots of analysys and casters have switched to bluesky. It would be nice to see more fans get on the ship too. Teams like SR, mibr, lev, loud are already there. And the goat Saadhak too.

I made a starter pack that you guys can follow with all the Valorant esports teams, casters, etc.

Welcome to all the new users 🥳🥳🥳

Twitter's new competitor. It's better in pretty every much every sense other than the number of people using it

22 million and increasing everyday. We can do our part and this is a much better place for players to post lft or any complaints or just any comments related to valorant, because of the custom feeds, they won't get lost and community can show love to the scene without hinderance.

You may ask why bluesky when there's already twitter/x. My four reasons.

  • custom feeds including a Valorant one that I already included in the starter pack.
  • no ads, no premium, no bait.
  • you can ban/filter words if you dislike politics, cats, etc.
  • non tech people, pls do not read. it's not completely decentralised rn but it has the option to self-hist your own instance. So if elon buys bluys bluesky, you can still use tge open source network. It's still improving on this aspect and as it isn't profit based company, expect long lasting platform without enshittification.

why can you ban the word "cats" like wtf

#19

It was an example. If you don't like accounts that posts their cat too much or if your discover feed is filled with certain things you don't like, you can filter them. I love cats and I use the filter feature to remove american political posts because I'm asian.

Honestly if it is as funny as twitter, I would have no problem dropping coloniser el0ns passion project (X 🤢🤮) at a moment's notice. However I fear that blue-sky will flop like reels and threads did in competing against the giants of tiktok and X. At least there's a chance because I know musky el0n is going to run twitter into the ground.

the only annoying this is how slow the algorithm is it took like a week of using the 'show more like this' and 'show less like this' buttons to get a decent discover feed. After that tho I think it's better than twitter

You can follow Valorant esports feed. I included it in the starter pack. And yes I agree, another thing you can do is, block the posts you are currently seeing like nature photography or US politics, etc and then after 2,3 days your discover feed will be nice. You can remove the filters then.

Hey why are yoi blocking nature photography???? What are you looking for on a social media website?

I feel like Reels has been pretty successful though. At least a million times more successful compared to Threads. Threads sucks balls.

Considering I've used Twitter for over 10 years I can safely say it's at its worst state right now and getting even worse. But Bluesky needs more time to settle, since it's a coinflip on whether any social media platform sticks.

Bluesky does have some hope in that it's taking advantage of Twitter's failures (better than Threads did, anyway) to grow, and obviously the popularity and role of politics is influencing that a lot too. Usually, when one social media platform falls, another takes its place. Discord wouldn't exist if Skype stayed relevant and if Mumble or Teamspeak didn't flop.

edit for spelling because i'm dyslexic

I personally don't care how many "millions" of people use it. As long as Valorant game us alive, so will be the community. You can chise to wait but it's nice to jump now, even if it's new. There's nothing to lose and only to gain. Also how many millions of twitter users are real? It's filled with engagement farming bots. When was the last time you saw a meme and clicked on it and the replies were random blue tick posts repkying irrelevant shit? Get on the boat, you either sale to a paradise or remain in still saling ship or stay on your ship which is burning and stinks

bro I get wanting to get people to try out 'the new thing' but the way you're attached to your message makes it look like they're paying you 😭
I follow more than just Valorant, so I do in fact care if millions of people use the platform
I'm not even a fan of twitter, there are bots and stuff but at least for now it has everything I need

Sorry. I just go full corpo mode when advertising. What can I do? Zellsis was my inspiration. Bluesky isn't a for-profit organisation. So even if I hoped they did, they won't pay me. Do you think I can make a career in marketing? Joking or am I 🧐

I'll bote the bait. You can follow Valorant only feed by deleting the discover feed. I'm just a fan of val esports and want to interact with val community but twitter is shit and i don't want to dip my feet into shit.

One burning dumpster to another. Bluesky does not rely on a comoany like meta or google. Anyone can host their own so death isn't a thing.

People have gotten used to the shit that is twitter now. You can sign up on bluesky wnd experience what og twitter was like.

  • No ads
  • no signup required to see posts amd their replies
  • no profit schemes like blue ticks or any fake engagement farming
  • no elon musk
  • custom feeds
  • filter what posts you like to see and what you don't
  • make your own algorithm like "Valorant competitive"(already included in the starter pack).
  • tag users like smartest_fan with custom titles like "liquid_idiot"

Threads was rushed, unpolished, and permanently tied to the Meta IP in a bad way. I knew from the moment it was released and I downloaded it that it was going to flop INSTANTLY. Just the fact that your Threads account is permanently tied to your IG account is enough to turn 80% of users off. Not to mention that Instagram constantly advertising Threads is annoying enough to probably turn the remaining 20% off too.

IMO Bluesky has a MUCH better shot at succeeding right now than Threads ever did.

#30

Yeah fair enough threads was unpolished, but I still think it doesn't take away from the fact that twitter is HUGE
I mean I'm happy to be proven wrong, I just don't think I will (#25)

If it becomes big yeah I'll use it but I'm just defo not gonna be an early adopter

I barely use twitter as it is, there's no point for me to switch to this to use it even less

#36
LycheeBlade

Well yeah, if you don't use Twitter much then obviously there isn't much incentive for you to switch. I'm the same with Snapchat -- it's why I never got into stuff like BeReal. I never liked the Snapchat streak system and BeReal is literally just that but on its own.

I will note that a lot of my friends that switched from Twitter to BlueSky have said that BlueSky feels a lot like OG Twitter, so BlueSky has that going for it. That's another reason why BlueSky actually has a shot at succeeding -- meanwhile Threads just saw that Twittter was weak for a second and released a half-baked clone with no distinctive qualities.

how is it any different from mastodon? download a client and use IRC like god intended

#44
Dandy_Chiggins

It's more centralised compared to mastadon which is a plus for a lot of mainstream social media users unfortunately. One can self-host but it requires 5-6tb so downgrade comoared to mastadon but it's feed, filters, starter packs, ease of signing up has proven affective with over 20million users joining thos week while mastadon is still at a million or less mark.

twitter only needed a few silent little tweaks to become the perfect platform for both degens and normies. The "free speech" shit was good too. Shame the avarice-addled fucking MAGAtard just had to ruin it for personal gain.

Whatever though, I guess native RSS feeds are nice.
