OCE val needs more attention, Like fr shit is entertaining as and they got good as players like DRAGON and Minimise. Like okay they may not have any VCT pacific teams but trust one day i see that they will get big.

I think OCE can field a good team, but there are no orgs that would/ could fund them
Edit: the only org ik in australia is PWR but they do FN only
PWR wants to expand into val but riot didnt give them a pacific spot. Maybe in 2027 when global esports contract expires
they were given a val slot in pacific ahead of time along side order but order fucked up their finances and so they didnt have enough to fund their valorant team and so riot removed their spot, pwr didnt want to fund the entire roster by themselves so there was no oce team in the end

Trust me Oce won't get slot on India's expense. Even if Global gets removed Riot people work closely with Orangutan in India so either ways that slot would remain with an Indian org.
They need one T1 team, since APAC is so stack, I would love Riot making an exception for China x)
Only hope for APAC in Oceania is GE going into a T1 South Asia... Or maybe RRQ that choose to drop x)

Kinda true you have a huge talent pool, probably biggest of the world after CN and USA, I'm trying to see wish of the 10 franchise can be removed for one for OCE but let's be honest this is pretty stack. Things would have been so mush easier if it was GEN or T1 that bough Vision Striker instead of DRX, hard to remove off JP team too since they got so mush hype, again if only DFM got the history of ZETA Riot would probably have only give them one spot... I can't obviously retire any other SEA team since they represent a captive market... And... Only RRQ remained. I don't really wanna RRQ out, it's right MY-SG-ID need a 2nd team, it will probably even a bigger market than JP and ID in 10 years, but that would probably be the least good choice actually (Because I don't really believe that Indonesian people prefer RRQ toward PRX, but you can tell me if i'm wrong and that your case).
So here what are the option for OCE :
- RRQ out, bad but not horrible choice
- GE out because the creation of T1 India : Not gonna happen before 10 years
- Drop an east Asian team : hard to imagine because of history of the 5 teams on LoL and Val
- Please riot to take out one of the noncloutedorg in China and accept Oceania being a part of China (WIsh make no sense geographically, but if OCE talent continue going in China well... It would end making sense historically)
- Separation of Americas and integration of OCE in NA (Hapenned few years ago in LoL, and in val 2021 LCQ), not really realist since SA can't have 8 franchised org with the crisis they are in.
- Expansion to 16 team, with 1 franchised org more or maybe 2 (4/5 ascension team that would make sense with new system, the actual system allow a possibility where you have to play against the finalist of champs to get ascended), would make sense in EMEA because MENA and CIS have no one to represent them, LAN have no one too, NA would like one team more. And about China... Well.. Complicated but I wont spit on more representative for MN, TW, HK and even East Russia. May happen at the end of Ukrainian war
What, to you would be the best solution for a T1 OCE team ? Remove DFM ?
PS : OCE cant beat BME because their talent did left T.T
Remove dfm and the views will suffer , remember that CR screwed up the paperworks so DFM had to fill in in the end.
And CR is the Far popular org by all metrics. Not to mention you have orgs like murash and riddle still lurking in Tier2(although they lacked the business and history like dfm and zeta).
You have at least 40k loyal fans who will watch zeta and dfm and that's not even talking about watch parties or if any of zeta and dfm even qualify for masters. These numbers are nothing to sneeze at, even in T2 Valorant you will get similar if not more than t1 itself
After all that investments into the Jp t1 and t2 I doubt the japanese fans would like it if their spot got reduced to 1 and riot probably knows that.
I really hoped bonkers would win ascencion last year, but it wasn't realistic.
I hope that they can get a T1 team at some point.
Lets be honest, a region that have 0 T1 experience, that cant scrim T1, that don't have player that have T1 experience will never win Asc, that exactly why OCE need a spot
why not have flyquest just pick up the team that makes it to ascension.
They did that pretty recently with a CS team after Greyhounds died,
riot would probably let them in too considering their relationship
