What do you mean by overrating? Like team of the year? I would give it to FNC but it's still debatable. Also, he played amazing in Americas, still pretty decent at Tokyo, and Champs he was just obviously the best player in the Tournament.

2023 EG is peak Valorant. No other team has yet exhibited the same level of coordination, explosiveness, flexibility, and clutch factor — although GenG is likely the closest. Demon1’s performance from Champs is also unmatched and his stats prove that; no other player has been as dominant outside of 2021 Tenz when the scene was in its infancy.

It’s easy to have high ratings when your team is dominating comparatively weak opponents. It’s like saying Mike Tyson beating a heavyweight challenger is unimpressive just because it looks less dominant than you smacking around a toddler.

There’s no inconsistency in what I’m saying dude.

At Tokyo, EG was the only competitive team given PRX had a sub — and yes, EG was expected to be much weaker. They only fixed their map pool and comps going into Champs. FNC was the overwhelming favorite going into Tokyo, while there were 4 teams at Champs that looked like winning contenders.

Teams get stronger and weaker over time relative to their competition. Champs 2023 is the most competitive tournament thus far and EG was the best team there, with Demon1 having the most dominant performance.

This isn't complicated.

They were dominant up until 2023 champions and they were easily the favorites to win and then you're team lost against loud twice, they had two chances to beat loud and failed both times meanwhile EG won against loud, FNATIC probably would not have won against EG if they couldn't even beat loud. Also I didn't mention anything about FNATIC's 2024 season, I was strictly talking about their 2023 season.

eg 2023 is looked back on fondly for a few reasons, personally I like them because they played extremely clean valorant that prioritised teamwork over individualism most of the time while still having room for innovation on maps like fracture and pearl. They also had undeniably the most insane underdog storyline in valorant history and completely imploded right after winning champs without even retaining a core so they never fell off as a team in the way 2021 sen, 2023 nrg or 2024 fnc and loud did
