It depends on how you view someone being soft. I think it implies that what the player is saying isn't valid and shouldn't be taken seriously because they're acting emotional. I think Icy has been underperforming for 2 years especially compared to how he was talked about as a scrim demon but what he said was completely valid.

posted 1 week ago

I'm not saying that you aren't entitled to your own speech but why does that mean players can't defend themselves without being called soft.

posted 1 week ago

I'm fine with people calling a player bad or trash, but when they say that and a player defends themselves and people call them soft and say "why can't we criticize them" with no actual substance to their argument that's when it feels brainless to me.

posted 1 week ago

When you think criticism do you think of it as actual analysis of a player's gameplay and decision making or being able to shit talk them as a fan and spectator of the sport?

This is a reasonable tweet. There is stuff outside the game we don't truly see. Yes, I think this tweet is based in emotion, but the sentiment is still there that we don't know the stuff goes on in a team environment.

The main problem is people will say "we should be able to criticize players" and their criticism is that the player is trash and deserves to lose their job and there is no actual substance about what they're doing wrong. When people say criticize what they mean is they want to anonymously shit on a player and not receive close to the level of hate that the player would simply by playing the game

I'm curious does Chovy actually play substantially worse in big games or does his team just happen to lose?

posted 2 weeks ago

I'm assuming it's in the riot rulebook that players can't look across the stage when playing.

if you provide examples of his calling and individual performance leading to the loss than yes.

posted 2 weeks ago

I prefer constructive criticism and healthy dialogue.

posted 2 weeks ago

but like surely winning means more than helping your old buddies. Like the want to be competitive surely has to kick in at some point.

posted 2 weeks ago

If C9 wanted to make improvements, why didn't they just make one switch neT for someone like alvinboy or bao and build off of what they did in stage 2 instead of having to reinvent themselves with 2 roster changes 1 of them being an igl switch?

While I do agree he shares blame I think it would suit you better to provide reasons and examples as to why it's his fault.
