Why do i not feel any hype for masters shanghai

People that diehard fans of just 1 or 2 teams sometimes don’t enjoy events when their team doesn’t make it. I’m assuming that’s the case?
Don’t think have been watching all the other events were Sen didn’t make it. But feel like I got no reason to watch this masters cause I feel no hype from it

masters tokyo, champs 2023 and madrid were far more exciting than shanghai right now ngl
shanghai seems so lackluster
the times zones aren’t helping honestly
this even in particular feels boring, might be because the opener matches weren't so hyped, and by that I mean the teams didnt had much history going against each other so the narrative is less exciting.
Depends really on your viewpoint on teams heavily. Madrid was so boring for me because the CN teams sucked and PRX was mid a lot. This is already more fun for me

Shanghai I just kinda dont think the quality of play is that high...? the only teams i genuinely think could've won an event last year are like... paper rex.
Timezone doesn't help, but to be honest, the Pacific fans also stay up to watch the matches in our side of the world, it's a balance imo. I just watch the replays or YouTube reactions bec i honestly can't be awake at night.

I also think the format isn't the best for creating hype at the start.
Starting with playoffs is a way better method to keep the community engaged, since every match counts (whether it's elimination for lowers or the fight to keep alive the advantage for finals in upper bracket).
Swiss stage just seems more of the regular season start, without the wonder of how a team is going to performe.
Flair probs. I didnt feel hype for Madrid either if ur fav team doesnt make it, it isnt exciting
i feel the same way before, but after watched FPX vs FUT game, my heart want to rooting this FPX, their gameplay so entertaining

People say flair but I’m in the same boat.
Personally the fact that I won’t be able to watch any matches unless I wake up 2 hours early for work to partially watch the later match means I probably won’t watch any of the matches. Additionally, since it’s in China the only stats available are KD and ACS. I get that different regions deserve to host events so I don’t complain too much but it really has taken any wind out of my sails. I’ll probably only watch the finals and that’s only if PRX or 100T are in
I'm more hyped for the chinese audience than the teams. They earned it anyways cause they won their regional games when it matters the most.
