Australia specifically in melbourne/victoria (which i think alot of the pros live there) is going through some hectic covid times right now with all the increasing cases and protests so yea im guessing riot tried to allow oce players to come to usa without going through quarantine to meet the schedule and failed.

This is actually pathetic.

People here blaming covid when it's clearly Riot's incompetence.

They haven't been professional in terms of putting the right amount of effort for these two teams to go to NA.
OCE shouldn't be getting a LCQ with NA of all places. Literally across the globe and a much more difficult qualifier compared to some shit regions that I'm not gonna name.
OCE shouldn't just be having one LCQ spot available to them. What a huge blunder all year round, seeing absolute dogwater regions get two direct spots when Soniqs could literally dominate Japan's entire circuit. But leave it at the knuckleheads at riot to dismiss OCE's tac fps history.

What a sad, sad ending that will probably leave the OCE region dying out of neglect in this game.

While I agree with you on COVID not actually being the real issue here.

You must remember, it's not riot's objective to ensure that they create the most competetive tournament possible by having the best teams in the world. They want viewership and growth, so no matter how weak teams from India, Japan or wherever else may be, their viewer numbers destroy OCE.

It is a shame and RIOT did F up in terms of helping these 2 teams head over to NA. There is probably also some blame to be put on the orgs also, I can't help but think if they took some matters into their own hands (finances permitting of course), that this mess could have been navigated much sooner.

I would just say this is just the first year, so few mess ups are fine.
I see South Asian fans, Oceania fans mad bcuz their region had to go through lcq and that was the only way to get a spotin Champions.(I am one of those fans too)

But I am just going to count this year as a trial year, where riot tried to look which regions had a good gaming scene and fanbases.

So I think few mistakes here and there are fine.
Way too sad that once cannot play. Wanted too see wronski against NA.
