Additionally, the organization welcomed back Anthony "vanity" Malaspina while keeping Jake "jakee" Anderson and Erick "Xeppaa" Bach.

Wippie, vanity, and Immi previously spent time together on Version1 Version1 Inactive during their VCT NA: Challengers 2021 campaign. After securing a slot for Masters: Reykjavik 2021, V1 placed outside the top four in the event. wippie couldn't attend the event due to VISA issues. vanity later left the team after Reykjavik for Cloud9, while wippie and Immi remained. Following the disbandment of V1 in 2022, the duo later joined G2 Esports alongside OXY ahead of the VCL NA: Challengers 2023. G2 came out strong, finishing second in the VCL NA Midseason Face-Off. After a slow 0-5 start in the second split, they ended their year with a top-six placement in the playoffs. The roster later disbanded in July.

Cloud9's tenure in Valorant extends back to 2020, with 2021 being their best year given their top-eight placement at Champions. In 2022, the roster did not carry the same momentum as they failed to qualify for international tournaments.
