it is mickey mouse but a win is a win, there are barely any 3rd party tournaments unlike in other esports so these pros play so much less so, if there is an opportunity to play then it is nice, big bonus that they get good money from it

posted 3 weeks ago

yup despite being mickey mouse, this might just be the confidence booster th needs so good for them

posted 3 weeks ago

it is mickey mouse. but i do think especially for big orgs, it is more important than the vct. it is only important for players if their orgs arent giving them high salary, but there is no prestige or champs points to get here.

posted 1 month ago

tournaments not part of the vct

posted 1 month ago

acend igl is bonecold i think. anyway i dont care about stats of igl, the more important thing is they are making good calls.

posted 1 month ago

unless the players are getting cheap salaries from their org, it really isnt that special and just another mickey mouse tournament. orgs, however, DO care a lot about the results in ewc, that much is true.

posted 1 month ago

it is a mickey mouse but yes riot should accommodate their schedule if they want more 3rd party tournaments.

yeah this is the side of kpopification thats actually embarrassing, also i dont think you should single out thai fans there are others who are exactly like this, it’s just stan culture

shes great

not eligible

yes, thats why it is a big advantage to skip, there is also another one where they can choose their opponents but i dont think its that important. g2 also is way ahead of champ points in americas, but other regions are way closer, maybe g2 has the luxury to risk bombing out early but for other 1st seeds i dont think its easy to say the same

posted 1 month ago

no, he has a point but no, getting eliminated in swiss guaranteed 0 champ points, is it worth the risk? 1st seed reward is instant playoffs and just win one series and you get points. they are not only already in playoffs, they also have more time to practice, rest, and watch their opponents. it is still true those teams have momentum but it’s not like these first seeds don’t have advantage themselves.

no, fnc best run was when they won the first worlds lmao

posted 2 months ago

no, majors are usually sponsored by the game developer so nope.

posted 2 months ago

yes it is rare for off season tournaments to do that simply because other TOs dont have the money for it. this tournament started with piggybacking on the results of the actual vct split so it looked legit, but it will never be because of how closed the vct system of riot is.

posted 2 months ago

yes it is mickey mouse. teams legit try in off season events too.

posted 2 months ago

crazy how its the orgs, players, staff that get the most criticism when its riot that licensed the game for ewc, and this is not riot's first year in ewc.

posted 2 months ago

i searched and bro also just got signed less than a month ago, thats insane

posted 2 months ago

more like org cup, basically ewc will host different esports tourneys for different games (not just val) and org gets points each time they win or get a good placing. org that gets the most points get extra prize money on top of the money they get from each game. so yeah while it is a mickey tourney for the game, it is kinda important for the orgs.

why loud?

posted 2 months ago

if valorant org, falcons 100% biggest backing, unlimited money, just buy the best rosters in each esport ez win. only thing stopping them in valorant is riot.

posted 2 months ago

its mickey mouse tourney with just big money, no prestige.

posted 2 months ago

man i have so much respect for zeish, engh and saadhak then i see these fans camping on the liquid victory tweet and i immediately feel repulsed.

posted 3 months ago

the fear of getting relegated for top teams + opportunities for some random team to go on a run yeah but most of all i just dont like how now, a team loses a few games and theyre out. there are barely any 3rd party tournaments that can help the team develop and grow yet riot expects these orgs to put out content and grow their fanbase, and how difficult that would be if you are not winning anything.

"All Clubs were selected through a rigorous evaluation process that reviewed nearly 200 applications. This included assessing their competitive track record in the Club Championship in 2024, their potential across multiple games, social media presence, fan engagement, and their strategic plans for activating their global esports audience. Eight Clubs received direct invitations based on their EWC 2024 Club Championship ranking, while the remaining spots were allocated through an open application process. Nineteen Clubs joined for the first time, and 21 returned from the inaugural year."

the 8 clubs were falcons, liquid, bds, vitality, t1, faze, gg, navi.
kru either did not apply or wasnt accepted.
