I’ll start
Brazil: Blumenau
agreed. strasbourg was one of the best cities i've went to in Europe -could be top 5-, you should go lol
historical stuff mostly, like rest of the europe. but the aura of the city, the cleanliness, places to shop etc were cute + really good desserts, its a small-ish city not a metropolitan either way, not that much stuff to do
lol no, izmir is overrated af
and istanbul is eh compared to other cities in world, OK for a mega city
That usually holds for any Turkish city
But İstanbul's cats are known to be fat/giant, indeed
having cats everywhere is amazing, I love it, so therapeutic
It's ironic since anywhere up north and most major UK cities have more knife attacks per capita than London does, and its not nearly as unsafe as everyone makes it out to be. I live in quite a rough neighbourhood in London and there's not really much knife crime here or elsewhere. And on top of that, it's highly unlikely that you get attacked if you aren't in a gang or involved in shady stuff.
As far as capitals go London isn't that bad but i would have to disagree.
This is a lie that the whole world has been fed about London. It gets less rain than the many other parts of the UK, and it has great weather in the summer.
What year? Because every summer since 2018, there's been a heatwave all through the summer.
just show up. If you arent getting too fucked up to get to your room you're partying wrong.
maybe 5 years ago but I feel like it's getting overrated way too fast, the real estate isn't even cheap which is the only thing it had going for it really, + NC state politics suck (imo)
As an outsider Vancouver looks beautiful with its mountain ranges. Does it live up to the pics?
it’s a beautiful place and great if you like the outdoors but very expensive and downtown is pretty ass
Every 250+k ppl city in Belarus is the same, Minsk is different cuz it is bigger than the rest but other than Minsk idk
I feel asleep at the beach in Antalya when I was 9, woke up looking like a crocodile bcz it was +30 and I was not wearing sunscreen. Other than that Antalya is alright
Wroclaw. Lots to see. It has a lot of old style beautiful buildings as well.
Honolulu, Hawaii
not from there i'm from D.C.
p.s. never come to D.C. the city is literally designed so you get confused and lost in it on purpose (google it)
London 100%, only city with any real culture
Edinburgh close second, amazing architecture + people are lovely
and not Hobart
(canberra, perth and adelaide fighting for the most irrelevant australian cities)
wtf is hobart? never heard of that random place before. surely its not part of that mysterious island below victoria right?
who cars anyway gold coast clears all.
melbourne has the shittest weather and is too cold
sydney is good, but i have bias towards gold coast
brisbane good but have fun swimming in manmade beach lil bros
gold coast is perfect weather, not expensive, so much to do and BRISBANE ONLY AN HOUR NORTH so W
perth is shit
melbourne is shit
sydney is shit
brisbane is shit
gold coast is shit
hobart is shit
australia sucks balls im out of this country asap
The 6ix is better. Just don’t throw up gang signs on Jane street 🥶
Best cities to experience nature🗿
Japan: Hiroshima, Nagasaki
Ukraine: Pripyat(Chernobyl)
USA: Honolulu(Pearl Harbor)
Lived in 4 countries so I'll go for all of them - personal opinions:
What would you rate the countries overall?
Like where did you like living in the most and where the least
If I had to rank the places I've lived:
Amsterdam, NL. Quality of life is really good, the cost of living is quite high but salaries are nicer than in London so you end up with more savings. City is stunning too. Transport inside the city and getting around with bicycle is convenient af. The Dutch themselves are quite shallow I find but there's a huge expat community, which is cool.
Ghent, Belgium. Lovely vibe, people are super friendly. Everything doable on foot or by tram. Might be a little biased cause I spent the start of my adult life there as a student so I made loads of friends there and had loads of fun experiences.
NYC, USA. City just always has something going on. Cost of living is sky high but back then I had my apartment paid for by my company which is usually the biggest expense so that didn't really hit me. Downsides are travel inside the city and how isolating the city can feel. Millions of people but hard to make friends. Dating life was incredibly easy on the other side, so that was a plus
London, UK. While it's a top tier place to visit, it's not too nice to live in. Living circumstances are fucking terrible, you pay shitloads for something that looks like (and smells like) a shoebox. Loads of homelessness. And cause the city is so fucking large, you could be travelling for a full hour to meet friends. The upside is that food and coffee etc are absolutely incredible in London, miss that the most.
All 4 are actually quite nice though Amsterdam, NYC and London you need to be making a decent chunk of money to get the most out of it.
India : Bangalore or Pune
SoBo is in another league tho, rest of Mumbai 🤮
P.S I live in Navi Mumbai
holy bad takes in this thread. I'm a NYer but I'd probably say Boston. SF used to be great too but now it's filled with drugs/homelessness
