yeah it looks bit odd but I think its better because maps like Ancient look so shit because of textures and colors I guess now they can make more clear maps that aren't just grey mixed with green etc.

no valorant is made on unreal engine (epic games / available for public use ) , counter strike is made on new source engine (valve / unavailable for general public )

it's not a new engine, source 2 exists since 2014. they evolved and adapted it for cs2 as well, just like they did from dota 1 to 2.

I like the switch towards more cartoony colors. I was sceptical about valorant having children grapfix at first, but after trying and seeing how much the visibility is better, I like that volvo has decided to take one from valulrante's page

not really, but CS is dead where I am (USA), not because it isnt colorful and abilities and stuff but it is really unplayable. too many cheaters, matchmaking is shit and most of the servers are deserted, so the tick rate server changes nothing for us. This will not disrupt Valorant atleast here.

You do understand that thats exactly what CS2 is going to (try and) fix. The biggest problem with counter strike is it feals like valve just abandoned it. But with a new entry that means new players and a more active dev cracking down on cheats and bugs. Im not saying CS2 will kill valorant but the problems you just raised with CS are literally why CS2 is so hype cos they might get solved.

visually, this seems pretty inspired by valorant's take on tacfps (brighter, flashy UI for active kill counter)

I know a few map artists left riot within the last two years for valve so seeing the update makes a lot of sense
