XSET Situation

I feel like a lot of people are forgetting the fact that this is likely XSETs last tourney based on the franchising rumors and they most likely won't get picked up as 5. If I had the opportunity to try and play further on with a group of guys who I consider basically family for even one more round at the biggest stage I'd do it as well. I'm also saying this from the standpoint that XSET wasn't the one who called for the replay it was RIOT who approached them asking if they wanted it replayed. In that situation I'd do the same as XSET, I like the memes and think they are funny, but some of the pros are kinda taking it too far with the hate/memes that are kinda pushing the lines of whether they are joking or not.

People that dont think XSET 5 will be picked up together makes my brain hurt so fucking bad.... they literally are (basically equal) to FPX, a top 4 team in the world, they're contenders for sure. If XSET faced againstt FNC/DRX they would've easily won today, they will 100% be picked up as a 6

The only players who are guaranteed to get picked up are zekken, cryo and maybe even bcj.

I think it's more likely that a team will pick up the entire roster, and then make changes. The team has made a lot of progress on this iteration. I would say Ayrin if anyone is likely to go, although seeing him depph and bcj do well this tournament, I hope he doesn't.

Dephh is the igl and given that NA doesn't have much good IGL's at the moment, I think he would be a good pickup for any team no?

I don't think you're realizing that franchising makes it very hard to pick a team up as 6, because of the costs. Teams are likely going to try and poach Zekken or Cryo because the teams that are in franchising likely will already have 2-3 players locked. Obviously minus TSM who is looking to buy Optic if they don't make franchising but even they are struggling to make the deal work.

If a team like Gambit couldn't get picked up as a whole I doubt XSET will get picked up as a whole with people who underperform at LAN/Global Level like Ayrin and Dephh. No offense to them they are great guys I just don't think they are worth the money needed to get them. Even Optic is struggling to get picked up as 6 because of contracts and stuff like that.

Dont compare gambit to xset lol, XSET is way better in 2022 and has accomplished much more.

Gambit failed to make it to a single LAN in 2022, XSET made 2/3 and got top 4 at champs. They are not the same, XSET has potential, gambit didnt

Gambit weren't in as good of a situation like XSET in 2022 due to the war and it causing them issues with prac, financial backings from the Org, ping disadvantages, etc. If you wanna talk potential you would have to say Gambit has a lot more potential by consistently putting up results in their region despite what is going on. Also I feel like more people would agree that the Gambit roster definitely had more potential than this XSET roster.

nope, XSET has more potential. all im hearing is excuses. They had chances to bootcamp, they've always had the ping shit its not that big of a deal. The war doesnt directly affect them , its not like they're getting bombed every dya like actual ukrainians. Gambit is just bad and failed to adapt. And their placements in their shit region doesnt mean anything. HAve u seen how dogshit liquid is? EMEA as a region is garbage barring FPX

Not guaranteed as a 5, unless xset themselves make franchising, most of the teams that get in have already good rosters or players that they wanna build around. So zekken and cryo could get picked up but the whole 5 is def not getting signed
