Reason why not nats, because no one even knew him till masters Berlin except the CIS people. Whereas cned always had been performing. Theres a reason why after acend won masters 1, this team was called cned n friendz. His individual impact is incomparable to any other player.

Do not take this the wrong way. But sentinels was not the best team for the first half of the year. Definitely the best team in NA but since there were no international competition till Iceland. Hard to say they were the best team of the first half of the year with the only competition they were playing were within their region. Just my opinion.

I think Gambit was the best team all year. Would be even more impressive if they made Iceland but they made Berlin and champions and were 1st or 2nd in both events.

X10 overperformed and has a much better record than VS at this point by taking down both Keyd Stars and Envy (although Envy looked like shit after they lost to Acend). Secret, not so much when they just beat Team Vikings and CR.

I could be wrong here, but in both intl event they participated, they were the clear fav to win the whole thing, but they did not manage to beat any big teams out there, excpet acend in masters berlin grp A. They lost to GMB in qtrs in Berlin, then lost to both FNC n C9B in Champs. Personally i had high hopes for them seeing them in grp D with FNC n C9B, that they will qualify for playoffs as 1st seed. For me they were the biggest upset based of the hype that was created around there name.

A hot take personally but I don't think that Acend should get team of the year based off of their championship. I think that best team of the year should be for top consistently performing team of the year which would either be Sentinels or Gambit. I understand there is a seperate award here for most consistent team but I genuinely think they are one and the same imo.

I'm happy to be proven wrong but Acend really struggled up to live up to expectations until this tournament and I think that knocks them down from being the best team of the year despite obviously being the first Valorant Champions.

Also on another note most underrated player has to be Sushiboys and it's not even close imho... mans popped off and got X10 from nowhere to somewhere in the champions tourney.

I can agree on GMB being the team of the year, tbh it is very close b/w acend n GMB since acend won the biggest tournament of the year
Acend did gave many downs this year, especially while playing qualifiers for masters iceland, but after that i believe their graph was pretty much growing.

The issue with Acend for me is that they just struggled up until this series. Didn't qualify for Reykjavik. Got knocked out in the QF at Berlin by Vision Strikers. Like to me it just seems that they struggled massivley in compariosn to Gambit imo. I still think Gambit have had more consistent success in regional tournaments having won Berlin and having come second in Champs.

Also yes, Sushiboys is a beast considering he was playing KJ most of the time.

GMB sure is more consistent than Acend but we can not deny the fact that acend beat gmb in 2 consecutive faceoffs. there is a difference in being consistent n being the best. The fact Acend won the tournament playing among the elites of the world, makes it clear that they are the better team rn. But GMB on the other hand made it to the finals of 2 consecutive intl event, are the best in their region, always making it to the top 4 of majority of tournament tells that GMB is a more Consistent team than others

Most consistent team is SEN imo. They’ve been one of, if not the best team in their region. They won Reykjavik, they underperformed in Berlin but they still finished top 8. They didn’t make the playoffs in champs but they still played great against Liquid and if not for the errors in Split, they could’ve been the 1st seed in their group. And then being up 8-4 in Haven T-side and Split Ct… they still had the chance to close it out.
