worst map pool ever?

with abyss and bind out, and icebox and ascent in, is this the worst map pool ever?

ascent has been played the same way for years (maybe w the double initiator tejo meta ascent gets played diferently?)

pearl is OK to watch in pro play (though most teams just play b long or split a) but horrible to play in ranked

split, fracture, and lotus are fun to both watch and play

haven and icebox are boring to watch, but fun to play

thoughts? maybe there's worse map pools, but i feel like this is at least the worst one in a while

there's richer map when it comes to agent pools, setups, and strats

for example, ascent is bad because you're basically obligated to play sova + omen + kayo, and every round is the same: mid pressure with a main lurk, and rarely some stack rush in main

the map and agent pool are not flexible

We had Ascent, Icebox and Breeze in the same mapool for years, and from last year Act 1 to 3, so this was probably even worst

pearl is a bit boring but in no way horrible to play in ranked. if a map is horrible for you to play then you don’t know how to play it right

it's precisely horrible to play in ranked because that map requires coordination

i see people in immo lobbies that don't know how to play mid in pearl

there's easier maps to play in ranked (like icebox or lotus)

There have been several adaptations people didn't try because the old comp was easy to play and only 1 team would play them well as much as there are mirrors it's because it's so easy to do and the comp doesn't ever look bad not because there are not any options

sen tried doble sentinel against geng in ascent and got absolutely cooked, their comp had too many gaps

i would agree with you if it wasn't that there's no room for cooking new comps in maps like ascent

any other option that isn't a standard comp is worse

best map pool imo for rankeds but kinda boring for pro play

wrong opinion this is the best map pool in years

i mean, the map at it's core is essentially the same. they just nerfed odin spam in main

I think the map pool we just had was the worst. Any map pool with breeze and icebox out kinda sucks.

nah, Breeze can remain in irrelevancy for all i care. only teams to ever cook on that map were Gen.G and FPX, and only for a few games before it was removed.
