Wtf are we talking about? Is this just a dogwhistle for "I hate female fans?" People are acting like this is the worst thing to ever happen to val and yet you literally never have to deal with it if you don't want to. The only place you could possibly encounter this shit is twitter, and why are you fuckers all on there anyway if you hate it so much anyway?

I mean they were. The rank community is notoriously toxic to women, and that's part of the whole initial "Valorant is an e-daters game!" reputation.

It becomes a problem when the female fans just stan a team or player without even knowing the game, then it just gets cringe. For the normal female fans though, I have no issues

But why do you care? Being cringe or lightly into the scene isn't a crime and doesn't really effect anyone. This just sounds like gatekeeping.

It's pretty offensive to link female fans to those making mpreg furry art of the players. They just happen to be girls.

Valorant needs better fans. Mfs act like its a joke when people mention how CS is 'chad' game but atleast its not THIS embarrassing.

Every viral Valorant post is filled with general public making fun of Valorant players. These mfs are living in their own echo chamber, dick eating each other to no extent. Its so embarrassing lmfao

I mean that half the complaints I'm reading our just about generic fangirls and how soft some of these "kpop fans" are. Some of it is genuinely complaints about idol culture, but a lot could just be swapped out for women 1 to 1.

Twitter is super important in valorant first off

And the fans are crazy parasocial. It’s something I don’t think I’ve seen in another game. But ur right it’s not a big deal for others

And it’s not just women, I’ve seen a lot of guys acting the same way, at least 33%

I think there is some validity to criticizing super obsessive fans. My issue is more with people calling it "The worst thing to ever happen to valorant" or those talking about it like it's some wider cultural issue for the scene. At this point, some people are just using it as a less cringe substitute for "woke."

We don't, but some of us are comfortable having the conversation at least. It's really a pretty rare topic, but some people just can't seem to stand it and shut down when it does go that deep.

It seems like your definition of "all the time" is more like "literally ever."

I get pointing out the parasocial behaviour but I don't get bunching up harmless people with the parasocial fans just because they don't talk shit 24/7 or aren't loud or I guess how the recent discourse have been describing it, 'aren't manly'.

Literally spreading hate for no reason just because you find them cringe and blaming them for everything bad in valorant when all they wanna do is participate in the community.

Plus it usually starts with them attention seeking and trying to flirt and do other unfunny shit and once they get ignored they start throwing and etc

both things can coexist. there is a (very small) minority of people using this to be hostile to women AND there is a part of the community (surprisingly big) that is weirdly parasocial towards the players. you shouldn't act like this isn't a problem, althought there is worse ones

what my concern is, if team stuck with a player or players or coach that does not perform well for a long time and they don't do anything about it because they have a big following.

nah i think its about people not liking weird degenerate obsessive parasocial fans that treat esports players as idols. sure they can be profitable but they also damage the image of the esport and the community. could also damage the competitiveness of the esport when orgs realise they dont have to try to win, they'll just make their money from a super popular player (like 2022 sen shroud, altough an entirely different fan base).

i think we all can also agree that its repulsive as fuck when people draw pregnant "fanart" of players, and talk about them as babies and shit. that alone should be a valid reason to hate them.

idol culture is cancer, even more so when people start idolising esports players (antisocial geeks that spend more time in game than outdoors, never had jobs, dropped out of scool etc.)

No they can't be swapped out for women 1 to 1. So far I have seen zero posts where they are outright saying "We don't want female fans". The prerequisite to being a female fan doesn't include making mpreg fanarts and obsessive weirdo behavior.

You're saying that someone else saying "I hate parasocial weirdo fans" sounds like "I hate women" to you? What does that say about you?

Stop using women as a shield to deflect criticism. Nobody here has a problem with fangirls. Everyone here has a problem with weirdoes.

they are weird people and make a big deal out of things that arent, they are not even valorant fans they just wanna attach themselves to some parasocial dynamic and then create issues and drama and blow insignificant things out of proportion to hurt someone elses career possibly cause they get some enjoyment out of it idk, like the only reason that the n4rrate drama was even a thing was because these no lifers on twitter made think pieces with thousands of likes about n4rrate saying retard in voice comms and then it even spread to the "mainstream"

I care because if content creators like Tarik or Tenz don't say ew stop that's weird the kpop fans will continue and my content on my social media for valorant will be all kpop-valorant. When edg won champs all my fyp valorant content was how kangkang -smoggy gay couple theory edits i checked their profile and ofc it was a 14 year old girl tbh i don't even play this game anymore cause of players like that i just watch it i think leo faria is trying hard to kick me and cs fans out of the game judging by his tweet
