GENG were hyped going into champs and EDG won.
PRX were hyped going into Shanghai they turned out to be shit.
People thought SEN would do bad in Champs, they made it farther than G2.
Trace also surprised people in champs.

Yes these superteams will probably come out on top, but I think there is a sort of luck also involved in the knockout format so I am not that pessimistic about there being no underdog stories.

Initial draws have weak/no story line leading upto them, I think they'll gain more popularity in the playoffs.

I don't think they need a face of valorant, we didn't have TenZ in Shanghai and aspas was out in swiss, shanghai was still going pretty good.

Why are super teams a problem? If anything it'll make for good underdog story lines if a team who aren't considered a super team finds success in the tournament.

Everyone been saying GC is below tier 2 idk why people are being like 'I told you so' like its not a known fact already. GC teams competing in tier 2 is still a net positive for them to get experience. As long as they compete amongst themselves no one in it is gonna improve there so its not a bad thing for them to compete in T2.

I don't know about other stuff but for resolution only go for a 1440p monitor if your PC can run the games you play at 1440p. Because if you downscale those games to 1080p its gonna look blurry asf because 1440p:1080p isn't a ratio of whole numbers (it isn't exactly 2 pixel to 1 pixel its more like 1.77 pixels to 1 pixel, therefore some details are lost) I am pretty sure thats why most 4K monitors have a 1080p mode because its a whole number ratio (4:1)

In all social media advertisements its always showcased on its max tier, yes they are at the base tier in the shop but its still frustrating to wait and grind allat XP just to get the product you initially wanted, especially for someone who has a job and gets to play only a few hours a day.

They advertise the skins at their max tier but sell it to you at its worst tier tell me why someone might not feel cheated. Yes most people have radianite by the time they buy their first skin but its still frustrating when you run out of radianite and you really want a skin.

No one is obligated to buy skins- the game is perfectly playable without them and they probably have data analyst teams analyzing sales which is reflected on skin prices. Rich people are willing to spend that kind of money on cosmetics it seems

only thing I hate about the franchising system is that its always gonna be the ascension teams who have the pressure to perform well. Put every team on relegation threat at least, it'll also make stage 2 more interesting to watch seeing teams trying to survive relegation, instead we just knew which teams were gonna qualify, and only had like 2-4 teams who's matches really mattered entire stage 2.

I don't actively avoid it but I try to balance it out by watching other medias in my free time. VCT or just live streams in general was one of the major ones last year (probably this year too). Movies, shows, video games (other than online shooters) and books. Currently I am on my second run of cyberpunk and also reading through the witcher books, which has cut down my time spent on shorts or YouTube in general. I guess short form content is just gonna be in my cycle of multiple forms of media I consume it just depends on how I decide to spend my time.

But when it first came out, I would be lying if I didn't doom scroll. I don't know, I didn't hate it but definitely started to get bored of it. Maybe its because shorts just has way less variety of content than reels. I don't have instagram and I can't even access tiktok so I don't know the content difference.

The only logical reason I could think of them making all the player card the same is that they didn't want the capsules to be too different that fans would prefer to buy some other team's capsule over their favourite just because theirs doesn't look that great. Which still doesn't make sense because its on the team to create good player cards for their fans. If they make a soulless player card obviously their sales would tank. icl I preferred league esports over valo, like I have not played a single game of league so I didn't understand jackshit about any champions in that game but I understood the basic idea of lane control + economy management. idk why but comebacks in league feel so much more hype than in valo (or I guess FPS shooters in general).

But I think valorant might become more interesting when they add more agents and eventually introduce agent bans so we can see more variety in the comps the teams run instead of seeing the same fucking comp on ascent for the 100th time. I doubt it'll take over lol esports tho.

I admit I only started following valorant esports this year so I don't know much about GE's past or how they have promoted themselves to garner supporters. But yeah I agree its kind of scummy to ask for a country to support you when you don't support any players from that country.

Personally I am just happy with ANY investment in the Indian esports scene in general. But I wouldn't get mad at an org (no matter where they originate from) to not do so. But I understand why people may be upset at GE for not investing in the Indian esports scene.
