assuming you have the skill required and are able to get noticed by an organization, what's the maximum age someone could be and still be considered for signing?
i've noticed a good bit of the tier 1 pros are in their early-mid 20s and some kept playing until their late 20s.

It depends on the video game ur gonna go for Valorant i surely think it's like 32 or above ( fns ain't bad because of age , u actually see that he plays his old csgo spray playstyle using vandal like when he used to be on that ak and valo and cs mechanics ain't same) , but honestly sometimes it may not even matter like what age u are hiko won a csgo major at 37 like the how to is that possible

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but

There are set windows of time for achieving certain things in life. Once you miss it, readjust your expectations accordingly.

I guess i'm young so this is kind of a priviledged take.

To people who feel "behind" in life, you could always still roll a nat20 and catch up, if you play your cards correctly. I've seen it happen!

if you're above 23 and is seriously thinking of STARTING a carreer on esports and you didn't already play for a while even in some fakes/t3/other games you should seriously give up on the idea and do something else

most mid20s players have already been playing professionally for a few years (sometimes even on other games), sometimes ever since their adolescence
just go back to some random teams on vlrgg during 2020 on any region and you're going to see a lot of recognizable names
there's a reason there's a lot of young names on the scene, the older guys already made a name for themselves playing several years ago and that's why they made it

Really, it depends. Age isn't as much a factor as your needs changing as you age. Want to start a family? You need a consistent income that will allow your family to do more than subsist. I could probably try and play in Challengers through my 30s, but id probably have to maintain a part time job, and rely on family or SOs to do it.

Pretty sure most pros who get their start at an older age (I.e. glowiing/pwnalone/roej in cs) have already been playing in lower circuits for some time.

End of the day, if you have the skills, comms, and temperament, you can do it at any age.

There is no too old to start. There’s probably someone out there who could start playing at 30 and get good enough to compete in VCT. It’s more of an issue of the older you get, the less free time you have, which means less time to dedicate to getting better. My guess would be if you’re in university, and can’t at least make it to T2, it’s probably not looking good for you.
