Create a separate event for these minor regions. Winner gets single slot to ascension.
This will actually save the game. These regions had 4 years to develop a proper market and they failed. Now it's time to focus on regions that have successfully developed a market, and take it to the next level.
But it has been an enough time. What long term? It is highly improbable that the market suddenly booms in a matter of a year in any of those regions.
These games are just wasting time. And if they want to waste time like this, then just make a different event that the people of those regions will have to watch. Ascension will actually be more competitive and something that people would actually want to watch like the Masters.
They didn't boom in 2022. They boomed after EDG made a run. Chinese viewership has always been like this. It's not comparable to these minor regions at ALL.

With the fusion of SEA few thing are kinda predictable :
2 slot are enough for KR and JP because they will be only 2 team ascended team max, if JP and KR are already strong, they don't need an unfair advantage over weakest region by having more shot to qual than them. Plus neve rforget that you will have surprise, based on precedent year everyone thougt NA would actually rollstomp Americas ascension and we all know how that did end. If NA would have more slot or SAmer or SAmer would have less slot them maybe it's another NA team that would have won the even.

Other's are right about jp and (possibly) kr having too many slots, but are underestimating the benefits that come with great spending power by jp.
