Do you watch Vtubers?

Random question, I know.

I recently set my Twitch to Japanese (learning the language) and a lot of the Japanese streamers for Valorant are Vtubers. I decided to give them a fair shot and a few of them were actually okay with a decent following. I suppose it is just a little hard to see the appeal unless you really have a preference for 3D girls with big boobs (though, there are streamers with more PG models too).

I used to think so at first but I also thought the same thing about anime before I gave it a shot. The Vtuber style of streaming itself does not seem to be so bad, especially if a streamer wants to remain anonymous but still have some form of personality.

Nah, honestly there are so many vtubers in SG/MY space and all of them really don't have any personality. The worst one is this Omen main who is "Asc" peak from SG that looked like her whole gameplay is just getting boosted by friends who are current immortal 1 or immortal 2-3 peeks. Just threw me off so badly

A vtuber called Minato Aqua changed my views on vtubers. I used to think that vtubers were all about being cute and cringe until I watched a clip of her destroying everyone on APEX. Her teammates also surprised me, the one called Towa was good at IGLing. The other one called Suisei was not as good as them(decent level) but when I discovered that she was actually a great singer along with their IGL Towa I was dumbfounded.

I can understand people not having an interest of vtubers because I was like them before. What I learned was there are vtubers out there who are great at playing games and not all have cringe loli personality.

They have a bad reputation but then you watch a few and find out that they are not all into the "cutesy" personality. A couple of the ones I stuck around with were just very chill and mature. It becomes not so different from a regular stream with the face-cam replaced for the 3D model.

Ya. They’re like any other streamer, just with a different visual identity. Some might choose not to use their own face for many reasons. And like any other streamer, they can have good content or bad content.
