Top 5 best teams of 2024

GenG : they made every single final(except champs) possible. won 1 masters. they made it to back to back masters GFs and looked the better team than every team in the world. crashed out in groups to the disappointment of fans but it was ina group of death with 2 eventual top 4 teams.
TH : they crashed out in groups in Madrid but only lost to PRX(who got 3rd) and SEN(who won). they made it to shanghai grandfinals but lost in the end to GenG. they have now made it all the way to the finals of champions and are heavily favored to win.
SEN: - SEN: won masters madrid but fell off hard in split 1 thereby not even making a masters event. but they bounced back in champs and made it all the way to top 4 losing to the eventual grandfinalists of TH. they had a massive improvement compared to last year.
took a lot of deliberation but I'm gonna have to say PRX : PRX got 3rd in Madrid and 5th- 6th in shanghai even though they dropped out of groups in champs.
~~~~its really between G2 / LEV : but I'm gonna hev to say LEV because 3rd in champs in worth more than 3rd in masters~~ ~~ on further thought I changed my mind to EDG

EDG are good bro but they didnt perform in any event other than this so I didn't really count them. i thought about it but decided against it in the end because who how dogshit they were everywhere other than champs

idk if we can close eyes on the fact that they completely fumbled on the first two international tournaments and (kinda hot take) got a somewhat easy run through the upper bracket but if they win the whole thing then at least top 3 for sure

If TH doesnt win champs and EDG does, then either TH is top 3 or EDG (based on what you value more), not both of them. You cannot say a team was top 3 in the year when they won 0 trophies. That only works when a single team dominates, like FNC 23, then you have no choice but to elect a team that didnt win something to be in the top 3 based on placements.

idk man its not easy ranking teams like this lol. you get a lot of conflicting opinions and these rankings are based on my opinion.

The only teams that will end the season really happy are the ones with trophies, I think that alone should give you an answer to how the top 3 should be imo

I think C9 should be up there for a number of reasons:

Showcased the best duelist itw rn: OXY
Excellent mental during down bad times like 5-12
Being group stage merchants with a roster that costs lesser than a pack of booba gums
Having the best logo out of all teams
Being the only North American team till date to win a major in Counter-Strike

I think NRG should be up there for a number of reasons:

Showcased the best duelist itw rn: FNS
Excellent mental during down bad times like 12-5
Being group stage shitters with a roster that costs more than a skyscraper
4 Having the worst logo out of all teams
Being the only North American team till date to perform so badly despite every player being a world champion

no wonder i have to keep the optic flair nrg is an embarrassment

FR. IF th dont win champs, it has to be GENG, SEN, then TH since SEN got top 4 in champs. impressive fr. 1 masters and 1 top 4 in champs
