To be honest, I can't believe that people are still saying he did nothing wrong. He's not the main guy to blame, but he def contributed to the defamation of Flashback. If someone posted news saying I engaged in child rape when I did nothing of the sort, I would be enraged; these weren't small accusations these statements are life-changing. People are saying he should be forgiven because he's a good person who made a stupid mistake. And I'm sure that's true. But this isn't just any mistake, this is someone else's reputation and career. Most of the time, slander never completely goes away and when that slander is about something like child rape, well, it's obvious how serious this mistake really is. Also, when people act like he was completely neutral and wasn't trying to push a narrative, I can't help but chuckle. When he reached out to the accuser I felt like he was doing way too much. That kind of made me think he was doing this for the attention rather than trying to inform people.
However, he only played a part, the main perpetrators are the ones who mistranslated this shit in the first place and I feel like sometimes people forget that and place too much of the blame on Butterfly.
