Is there any real reason that Aspas isn't the GOAT

Listen I get that Chronicle has 3 trophies n all, and that he is a very good player, but Aspas is on a different level than him, and everyone else in the world

Aspas has the trophy (2022 champs), and has literally been between arguably the best player in the world to clearly the best player in the world for the past 3 YEARS IN A ROW. DO WE REALIZE HOW INSANE THAT IS??

yay and demon1's peaks were literally on PAR with this guy, and they lasted a THIRD of what he's done, and he has an entire career ahead of him? And now LEV looks like (arguably) a Top 3/4 team in the world (GenG, Heretics, Sen if you're feeling it) with him literally carrying every. single. game.

I can appreciate that Chronicle was a part of 2 very good teams in Gambit and Fnatic but man... Aspas is on another level entirely imo

anyone calling Chronicle/Tenz the GOAT of valorant is just trophy washing and ignoring the king

(I am NA fanboy, this thread is supposed to be entirely unbiased)

I won't compare IGLs because that's very subjective but I would rather have Aspas on my team than anyone else on that list.

even tho boaster is b0tster, id rather have boaster on my team. him and mini would have teams that can consistently get to international events and get good placements (minimum top 6-top 8). best scouting is also from Boaster and Mini, so ye.

igl is most important in a team (look what happened to NRG in stage 1)

I literally said I wasn't comparing IGLs because they are absolutely the most important part of a team because of their calling, and that's an entirely different skillset

But conparing value that someone brings to a team can be done with an Aspas vs Alfa and IMO i would rather have Aspas than alfa

To really answer the question I would ask you if derke is the goat.
Every argument you made for aspas is one you could also make for him. Yet we all agree that derke definitely isnt.

I couldnt give you an answer for Goat either though. With so many roles, playstyles, circumstances etc its always so easy to find someone who is better at another thing.

that is down to team structure though and one of the main points of the conclusion
Derke CANT have the stats of aspas since thats not how fnatic has worked since... pretty much 2021 (where he did in fact have aspas level stats)

that is exactly the circumstances that I mentioned above. A freedom oriented team like Loud will allow for much higher numbers than a structure & set-play oriented team like Fnatic or Drx
This doesnt tell you anything about the players though.

this just isnt backed up by any statistics whatsoever and goes off the assumption that the set plays are built around the duelist getting kills, which just isnt the case for a lot of them.

Aspas and Something are the 2 best players by pure numbers I can think of. Both of them are on teams that do not have hard set plays and instead let the duelist pick duels that are favorable for them.

Duelists like Derke, rb, deffo, or even Victor in NRG, didnt have this freedom.
If you go back to old vods you will find so many jett dashes onto site where getting a single kill is already them diffing their opponents. Those will still reduce their stats though.
1 for 1 isnt good enough when youre comparing yourself to Aspas who just get to lurk around the map for a while during the defaults, or a Something who will often have a second duelist entry with him, where the whole site hit is built around getting kills,rather than space.

Its a completely different philosophy of what how the teams use the duelists.

exactly 1-1 trades happen when the support for these set-plays is not good, most of the time you see players like derke, zekken getting 2.3 free kills when the support is well done, unlike aspas and something that look for the kills with little resources for them

You realise LEV hasn't had any real competition their 5 last games which makes it seem like Aspas got 30 kills every game for 3 years? i don't think Aspas has really done jackshit since he left LOUD, yes he got kills but that's not enough for most teams. They need a competent player who can play with and for the team, not someone who can only play for himself. Lev hasnt even been that great internationally either, they did well in split 1 and split 2 they just had teams are shit to play against. The only 2 teams who kind of gave them a challenge were 100T and EG but they have been looking shit too recently so they were free wins for LEV
