get rid of lower bracket in playoffs.
but we also don't know if it'd of been better or not if it was single or double elim because each tournament is different(and with how it was formatted us speculating is a bit too ambitious)
like with Masters 3 berlin, I am of the opinion that it would've been better if it was in double elim
We would've of gotten
LR1A SEN vs acend(great match)
LR2A G2 vs SEN/acend (great match, it'd be the 3rd match between SEN and G2 at the event and an inter region match between G2 and acend)
and could've gotten
LR2B 100T vs VS great game, although knowing VS they might've just choked to KRU and i don't think KRU vs 100T would've been close
LR3 100T vs LR2A winner (another great match, yes i am confident 100T beats VS, no i am not debating this)
a 100T vs Envy rematch being the most likely lower bracket final (because the other side of their LR3 match is divided between SEN/acend/G2), and because of how rematches work(loser wins the rematch 2/3 of the time) we'd get a rematch of 100T vs GMB in the finals which is another huge banger
we can't exactly say the same for Lock\in because of the format, it'd be too hard to create a lower bracket, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be to the same extent as berlin because
GenG played LOUD the closest of any team(tied with DRX), they could've been a top 6 team at the event and instead they got relegated to 1 match
This works in reverse too.
the 2 most prevalent examples in my mind, Masters copenhagen and masters 1 Reykjavik, lose a lot of their legacy if you take away the lower bracket (both winners don't win, you miss out on both ZETA and FPX's lower bracket runs
edit: added a bit more context in some places, like "LR3"
