Also, a tournament being a qualifier for another tournament does not equal both tournaments being on same level. I know even you can figure that out

I did not say what is and what is not a major, because that term does not exist in Valorant. What I've explained is coming from Riot themselves: LOCK//IN was not to be compared to a Masters tournament, nor did it try to be one. Simple as that. You're trying to argue something that wasn't even debated by me, must be quite bored...
But since you're so bored, let me tell you that "Majors" (the term created in CS) did not require Valve involvement (that's a thing introduced in 2013). CS had Majors starting with early 2000s, and they were supposed to meet a certain criteria (based on competitiveness and prize pool money). According to the logic that you're trying to use, Riot being involved in an event (which by the way, is most of the events altogether in Valorant, everything is a major in your mind) has no bearing in calling an event Major or not.
technically speaking, the format of the tournament wasn't the only thing different, but also the lack of merit-based qualification into it. LOCK//IN was more of a "showmatch tournament" (as it was explained by Riot executives) in order to introduce the IL (international leagues) teams to the viewers.
Anyone that says LOCK//IN is on the same level as Masters simply lacks understanding of competitive play & formats.
It does start to feel a little bit like CS , where Asia (especially Korea) had some great teams, but the major titles almost always eluded them... let's hope PRX can break the trend
Valorant was launched June 2020... how is it not even 2 years and a half? How did you calculate this?
Nobody is talking about Pacific here but you... the thread is about Asia
You're being called delusional due to the deluded argument you were trying to make. I don't care about streamers at all, nor about Andrew Tate (even tho with the latter example it's easy to be convinced that the respective entity is a scumbag), and I have not assumed that you like any of them.
Expect to be called out on stupid arguments (ie: the no proof part specifically) without getting personally offended, there's things to learn from it.
Looking at who started this thread, I was very inclined to not respond... but I'll do it anyway: Derke is absolutely correct
the dude quite literally admitted to it through his so called "University" courses and some of his online monologues... you're really delusional and need some help. and no, I won't make fun of you for seeking that psychiatric help
Can someone inform this alleged SEN fan that there are 3 different nationality of players in Sentinel's starting roster at the moment?
He left Val for CS due to schedule (3 Challenger Stages with open qualifiers + 3/4 LAN tournaments), he was spending too much playing and away from his newborn kid. CS at the time was just concentrated in Europe and Liquid were selective with the LAN tournaments they attended.
Now he left CS for the exact same reason, since post-pandemic there's way more CS tournaments that require an increased amount of traveling. Ironically, after partnership started, Val is way more simple to play at Tier1 level (when it comes to spending time w/ family), since you have to just be in one city for the majority of the year.
Even if he likes CS more than Val (which is arguably very possible), that's simply not the reason why he switched... he explained this himself.
What germans? If you mean FOKUS, look like they're Danish and British.
Learn how to talk shit properly for your region, then you can ask for partnership slots.
I read it
It's off-topic
You're probably not far from the truth tho
You need some punctuation discipline
Upvote for the effort and getting that off your chest
Derke and Afla were both proven stars on fnatic before the "superteam" was created. Your argument doesn't make much sense
The differences between the two tournaments are night and day.... you must be trolling asking this question
Respect! A player and an on-stage personality that will definitely be missed
Chronicle gets more kills on average than Leo, but he also overheats (barely, but still) more than Leo
Leo vs Chronicle initiator relevant stats at Tokyo
82% KAST vs 78% KAST
0.01 FDR (which is insane) vs 0.09 FDR
0.40 vs 0.45 APR
1.58 KD vs 1.48 KD
33% clutch rate (out of 12) vs 0% clutch rate (out of 8)
Leo is undeniably a corner stone and irreplaceable piece of fnatic, the most consistent and best player in the world currently. Chronicle is great, but not quite as great as Leo at the moment. Just facts with no bias
didn't sScary sign with BLEED for like 2-3 years for a bunch of money?
ah, you're right... they finished above NaVi this event, my bad
you're literally retarded, u can stop replying to me now
nice edit fucktard... who do you think you're fooling? lol
you said Americas in the title, but then proceed to only list NA... why?
don't they first have to go through LCQ?
I would've understood if they lost 0-2 (with similar score to Lotus) to call it a fluke run.... but let's be serious, fnatic barely won this match, calling EG's run a fluke at this point is kinda stupid
and first they lost to KRU... still got grouped.
Why are people acting like LOUD didn't go through almost the same thing last year before winning Champs? (ie: bombed out of Copenhagen 2022 in groups)
"fluke comeback" is as weak of an argument as "fluke first half"
you're either mentally and/or tactically strong to close out the map or you're not. Saying that EDG is better than PRX is a new kind of braindead
interview with thespike.gg , she was asked for a banter statement and she said something like: We knew EU sucks, Americas came into the event as #1, besides fnatic, or Liquid if they have players on fire.
They are, his name is Ardis Svarenieks. I can't help you with the meme, don't have an idea where it is coming from
No, that's not his name lol, the trolling is real
so let me get this straight... if an Americas teams sends yet another EMEA team home this event (and leaves fnatic as the only one standing) that means that EMEA is better? gotcha, great logic 2000iq
LOL idk why people act like MIBR (or any specific player on mibr) played great that match.... 100T would've lost to pretty much anyone that day, they caved under the pressure and played horribly, it was a mental collapse of great proportions.
100T mental choke sent them there, not MIBR. It didn't really matter who 100T played that last match to be honest, they would've lost anyway the way they were playing, caved under the pressure.
calling out facts and/or delusional statements doesn't make me a traitor, it only makes me smarter than you
the reality is that EG plays the better Valorant out of all teams in this event, both from a tactical stand-point and teamwork-wise (and I was never an EG fan, nor will I probably be). I'm not a dumb tribalist
"we can't lose to americans"
Yet EMEA keeps doing it this event...
lol good one... you and dapada: dumb and dumber
EMEA #1 can't even get 2 rounds of EG bruh... stfu
"EG only beat their own region to advance."
Didn't EG literally beat #3 EMEA, #2 APAC and #1 Americas until now? This guy must be trolling...
what do you mean yeah sure? he's been proven to be absolutely correct.
Out of 4 EMEA slots, 2 made playoffs
Out of 3 APAC slots, 2 made playoffs
Out of 3 Americas slots, 3 made playoffs
Use brain next time before trying to sound smart on a 3 month old thread
cNed (alongside Suygetsu) carrying NaVi in this match. 17-6 FK / FD is pretty nutty considering the opposition.
Not sure if leaving Split for decider was smart tho, I think NRG are better on it
I watched the match, not sure why you're assuming I didn't. They were only the better team tactically on Haven (where T1 really looked lost).
I don't think most people agree that EDG looked like the better team. EDG looks like they always did, great individual skill, explosive playstyle but unable to close series out... most people probably agree with this
If you look far enough in history, Man City is not a small club. It just had a bad time between the 80s and early 2000s. I don't think you know as much about football as you're trying to portray. And no, I'm not denying that sheik money is what propelled them, but lets be serious, that's not the only reason. The Mansour family took over more than a decade ago, and until they got a proper world class manager that managed to build a quality and balanced team, they couldn't even smell the UCL trophy. (eg: PSG has yet to win it, and they invested a relative equal amount)
The lack of relegation/promotion system will unfortunately result in the US not becoming dominant on the world stage, or compared to other confederations, but in the next 50-60 years U.S. (and NA overall) will probably catch-up with the rest of the world and have football(soccer) as the most popular sport, it's somewhat inevitable
It is no longer the 6th most popular sport in US, it is the 4th now (and the fastest growing one) https://www.wolfgangsport.com/most-popular-sports-in-america/
you live in the past
They lost in Upper Bracket QF 2-1 to Optic
Then they lost in First Lower Round Bracket to PRX
The Guard was not in groups. Technically they got 7th/8th place at Reykjavík '22 (mainly because BYE on groups)
