That's a good point 💀

I hesitate to talk shit on fns because I just don't know any pros like that but I get bad vibes from him, like he tilts too easily or something, especially compared to Boaster.

That clip of him raging at Neon someone posted earlier is kinda evidence like idk I can't imagine other pros getting heated like that even if they still think she's broken

posted 2 months ago

I agree but there's very few fns truthers on this site.

Boaster is at least actually great at calling, it's just a question of whether it's worth his combat performance

posted 2 months ago

wait why is everyone engaging seriously with this did all of you start playing valorant in 2024

posted 2 months ago

It really must suck to be a Brazilian fan and watch the best players go to foreign teams that just pay more.

Tho I wonder why this isn't the case for LATAM teams? Do they actually pay better too?

You're mostly cooking with this comment but frankly saadhak wouldn't be in such high demand if he wasn't rated highly by people in the scene and not just in echo chambers

posted 2 months ago

LEV, SEN, and FNC will all be worse or adapting to a new roster and idk I have a feeling Heretics will struggle this year.

We've never had a champs-winning roster stay together the next year so it'll be exciting to watch if they do have to fight to stay on top

good, EDG will have competition

posted 2 months ago

Yeah idt the self-heal needed a nerf. It being way slower feels like enough of a tradeoff

posted 2 months ago

I see the vision

posted 2 months ago

You're right that she could use just a strafe speed nerf but tbh fns is tweaking. He would've been fucked in both of those scenarios against a raze too. Neon is just more tilting

The incurable ones either have vaccines or ways to make them dormant but I respect the hustle tbh

posted 2 months ago

They still lose regional playoffs or get grouped at champs...?

Idk if this is cope but I was getting the worst games on my main account and then I made a clean alt, queued with no pressure just to improve, and now I'm getting really fun games that feel more fair. I'm not getting the same daycare lobbies I used to where it felt like I had to drop 30 to maintain a positive winrate.

But also plat players genuinely have the worst mental. You just gotta do your own part and accept that sometimes they'll throw games.

posted 2 months ago

Replay system overrated genuinely. It won't fix the shitty player base which is the biggest problem.

posted 2 months ago

How are we still calling this a fluke? They did better because they got a new coach, new support player, and new IGL. They didn't have these while they were struggling earlier in the year.

Kang Kang, Smoggy, and Chichoo have always been cracked. It's the other things around them that needed to improve.

posted 2 months ago

Frankly at some point you just gotta take one for the team. NRG has needed a good duelist for a while

posted 2 months ago

they're going Made In Americas

posted 2 months ago

I mean yeah it's stupid that loud got pancada back of all people but I'm just saying tuyz has potential on duelist. We saw what happened with the other guy who "wasn't comfortable playing duelist" at Shanghai

posted 2 months ago

I don't understand why he insists on keeping s0m on smokes simply because he's good at it when rn there's like three good smokes players for every one good duelist. It feels like he's stuck in 2022 with that mentality.

posted 2 months ago

Have you played against tuyz more than once? If so, do you remember him playing duelist recently?

posted 2 months ago

Don't engage with that guy he's a baiting idiot

posted 2 months ago

All of you unimaginative losers hating on duelist tuyz before he's had a chance to practice and prove himself are boring asf

Nah the purple spacey theme is cool and unique. Maybe they give it a little touch up going into tier 1 tho

  • The bar recharges, but not the slide. She only has two slides. Raze only has two satchels.
  • It's absolutely different because you only need to adjust horizontally for a neon slide and she can't slide past util. It's way harder to hit a flying raze and if you disagree then idk what to say. There's a reason Neon doesn't get picked on Bind.
  • Read my comment again. It is lucky in the sense that no human hits those shots consistently. Sayf flicked in his direction, but if you run that through a simulation, he does not hit that shot every time. You're cherry-picking insane flick clips from Neons. I could do the same with Jett/Reyna players swinging out of a smoke, hitting a flick, and escaping to safety.
  • If Neon is sliding on you with a judge, she's giving up range. Stop staring at a choke while she's running at you. Use util to separate her from her team. It's easier to deal with than Jett updraft dash into smoke, which buys time for her whole team to come help her.
posted 3 months ago
  • Neon doesn't recharge slide every 4-6 seconds. What are you on about
  • Accuracy while flying is a completely different thing than accuracy while grounded
  • It's supposed to be disadvantageous to stare at a choke while out in the open. A Phoenix flash would've sat him down too, but who plays Phoenix?
  • It's extremely hard even from the Raze/Neon's perspective to acquire a target that quickly, and doesn't happen consistently. It's like when you hit a flick onto an angle you're not looking at. It's partly "luck," in a sense, because you're flicking toward the general proximity of someone's head position. You could find plenty of clips of a raze/neon whiffing their first accurate shot and getting killed by phantom spray.
posted 3 months ago

L take. Neon doesn't need nerfs and fortnite is a terrible comparison. Just like with every duelist, you put yourself and the team in positions to counter her utility with your own. And Raze can do the same run and gun judge shit while flying over trips and having useful destructive utility.

Your anecdote of "silver player fries in dia/asc lobbies" is not only dubious but also the type of phenomenon that can happen with any ranked gimmicks like grim walls, aggro omen TPs, Yoru tech, etc.

posted 3 months ago

Kang Kang is the one imo. He's MVPing not just from his team's support but also by putting himself in very risky situations and still coming out on top.

posted 3 months ago

pancada

posted 3 months ago

It might. The B main choke is a lot smaller, which makes it more dangerous for attackers to sit and spam through smoke. And it's more attractive for attackers to fight the retake on site since there's more cover.

posted 3 months ago

That's an upside. The human brain does not readily interact with engagement-optimized social media like twitter in a way that's healthy.

posted 3 months ago

I'm confused about what engagement-optimized matchmaking looks like in-game as opposed to skill-based matchmaking.

I understand it's the set of games for each player that makes them least likely to not play the game for a while afterward, but what do those games look like? Is it favoring matchups that are likely to result in a win for a player that has lost multiple games already?

Also, these findings were specifically for 1v1 matchmaking, and the authors wrote that they need to test if their findings hold up in team-based games.

skill issue

posted 3 months ago

Better to have to interact with people in person than to yap nonsense to millions of faceless randos

posted 3 months ago

Valorant as a game is in a good state imo.

The problems really lie with the gamer community in general. Ranked often deviates from the intended teamplay experience because gamers have trash mental, and streamers are busy smurfing and yapping about there not being enough content rather than challenging themselves to get competitive and join a premier team or something.

The actual mechanics, balance, and function of the game are better than most other shooters.

c0m was driven asf he literally said in an interview that anything less than back-to-back trophies is failure to him

Yeah I can't get a read on it anyway cuz Saadhak leaving is already so cursed

So happy your country gets to heal

posted 3 months ago

I'm curious whether Less stays on LOUD. If he leaves, lukxo and heat could make the perfect replacements for him and Saadhak. Only problem is cauanzin's calling seems kinda shaky rn

posted 3 months ago

Wait did twitter actually get banned in Brazil? Goated decision

posted 3 months ago

Bro if you think valorant is a dogshit game then stop watching instead of yapping

posted 3 months ago

Single elim is so flukey though bc you can get all the frontrunners paired against each other early on and then a team that maybe isn't the best winning it all.

Map veto is actually a strong advantage. It's just that a lot of teams choke tbh. Maybe if the upper finals winner got to choose the entire order of the maps it'd be stronger.
