Vietnamese and Ethiopian food gotta be up there too
Everything just devolves into the ascent comp...
Harbor is harder in solo queue. It's damn near impossible to have your team play around his util
Best: Omen
Worst: Gekko (and other flash initiators)
Is there a confirmed source for this?
Yes but are we really going to act like GenG losing to TH and SEN is equivalent to bilibili losing to FNC and KRÜ?
We all know if GEN weren't in group B they'd have made playoffs and placed at least 5th/6th.
A map having problems does not make it uninteresting to watch. Let's drop this and just watch the game.
It would've mattered a lot more against LEV but it happens that they have damn near the same map pool as Heretics. At least there's less footage on EDG's Abyss if it comes to that.
I never said it wasn't an issue, just that I still think Ascent is bad. You're the one bringing it up on an unrelated discussion.
You do know Sunset is more than just B site right? And that Ascent B has been a KJ weak side / sova wallbang shitfest for years?
Average vlr user encountering a different opinion:
And yet Sunset has given us interesting games. The only interesting thing about Ascent all year was watching a third seed Chinese team demolish on it... and then flop on other maps where that playstyle doesn't work.
Haven and Bind have been around just as long (the former with no changes) and their metas aren't nearly as solved because they're actually designed to be played in more than one way.
Or maybe the map just doesn't encourage creativity and has been played the same way since 2022 despite how much the meta has changed everywhere else
I mean S1mon can struggle to shoot sometimes but the dude genuinely has insane util usage and consistently like 15+ assists per game
Boring and poorly designed map. I hope the casuals finally see it for what it is.
Facts dude the new generation of maps (Fracture onward) are so much better than the likes of Ascent and Bind. Gamers just stay hating change.
Yeah me too I was hoping for more suppress abilities in the game tbh
Damn it I wanted a new initiator
Thanks tho
Glad to see a lack of Ascent from most ppl here. Based.
I'm glad people are finally coming around to Lotus after seeing how exciting and volatile it is in pro play.
That's so untrue lol her stars are some of the easiest util in the game to use. You use stun anywhere you anticipate an enemy to be and you suck any choke or peek angle that you don't want an enemy to come from while you're clearing something else.
demon1 should just learn to be perma smokes/senti atp. It's so awkward having him only play Jett. s0m could be a better perma duelist
I disagree. In low elo it's the person's comfort/fun with an agent that matters far more than the agent's perceived ability to carry.
That actually would be awesome cuz a lot of the time I do wanna study a pro vod but just for one agent/player.
This is the first good use of a replay system I've heard.
Depends on if EDG cleaned up their Icebox. I have a feeling they'll win each other's map picks
The betting sites have ridiculous NA/EMEA bias. It was similar odds against SEN
Yeah. Harbor's pretty insane for a tac shooter too though. I hope he gets buffed again
Dude, no. That's the thing. Why would you force Raze on Lotus every game instead of experimenting? If people wanna try triple sentinel on Icebox or triple duelist on Split or whatever who cares? That's exactly part of the fun.
Maybe it's too fast but tbh I think this community needs to be pushed into being more decisive.
People complain so much about instalocks but there's too much "flexing" onto unfamiliar roles from players who are too insecure to just lock what they feel better on even if it makes for a "worse" comp.
I think a fast agent select screen would help players just pick and not sit there second-guessing themselves.
Who the fuck decides how many of which role on which map at which rank can be chosen and when it should be changed according to meta? Tac shooter "roles" just aren't like that.
If we get timeouts in comp can we also get agent select cut down to like 30s cuz it's stupid how long you have to wait especially when someone dodges 3 times in a row
No.
Aside from all the problems already inherent to role queue, tac shooter roles aren't even fixed nor easily defined.
Yeah like isn't this better than every team except Heretics?
Also you sound like you watch their games pretty closely, so what do you think went wrong with their Icebox against PRX? On paper I think they should try S1mon on Gekko but maybe it's more of a playstyle/matchup issue.
I mean it was called the group of death for a reason. Both the teams GenG lost to are now in the top 4. Overall they're almost certainly still a top 8 team rn
It's the fact that they lose to teams like FUT and Trace who end up losing hard anyway that's weird, and also it feels like a lot of their rounds come down to clutches and hero plays.
But admittedly yeah they have cleaned it up since Shanghai
Twitter (the platform, not just the people) has been a complete shithole lately especially for LGBTQ people so it's unlikely there's any other reason for it
I think it's because kingg is just not a particularly great igl and a lot of rounds come down to individual decision-making. I want to root for them because each of the players are great but even having reached top 3 it feels like there's something missing that stops them from being consistent.
The changes they've made since Shanghai have been insane. I love to see them maintain high confidence the way they have been
The barrier trip thing is actually idiotic like why discourage bold and risky play
They're gonna troll and let Haven though but still win 2-1
