in a month ill be moving back to south korea and im curious to know what korean ranked is like. how are the comms? what is their playstyle like? etc
hello.
idk it depends on the elo.
when i started the game i was placed in plat 3. my highest is like high immortal - i was 6 wins off radiant at peak.
however, thru my smurfs i have played thru silver and gold.
low elo will have less aim demons than other regions, people will know util better than other regions so u will see lots of kjs just opt for the disciplined, safe postplants.
in like gold/plat/diamond u can occasionally see the insane aim demons but there will prob be a decent amount of toxicity and in terms of tactical fundamentals its pretty shit ngl. no difference in util usage imo.
in higher elo the util usage is really smart, everyone just kinda generally knows how/when/where to drone and shit. like idk about you but if u are execing a site these mfers will actually wait for the drone to clear before running in/wait for the flash before leaving the jett smoke. but u will have reynas who lurk as well.
there are some crazy fucking aim demons tho like these guys are almost hacking.
even tho im big zeta fan it might be easier to play japan servers cuz in ranked those guys suck.
to add onto this: in korea people have much more presence of mind than NA/APAC.
For example, in lower elo they're more likely to accurately read certain set plays (whether people on the other team will buy shotguns/LMGs, how people will react to a push/how people will exec a push based off ult econ, etc.) I've noticed in NA players are more likely to have a good guesstimate but won't be able to predict someone holding a tight angle with a judge.
KR players also have a more rigid strategical mindset of playing the map (they will always put emphasis on split pushes, there always has to be a guy who clears showers on Bind, A short or Garage on Haven, etc.) in lower elo.
I remember playing on an APAC smurf in a high diamond Fracture defense game, and it was a lot easier to tell my team how to play and react because I've had practice playing with a style that depends on accurate predictions and guesses.
It's 12-11 and the attacking team has KJ and Raze ult. No other ults in their econ, but they have a full buy.
I called to 5 man stack B because we had defensive utility set on A + we could get ults up for retake if they hit A.
Enemy team cut noise for a decently long time, but I knew they had to hit B and told my team to hold. They hit B with both ults as expected and we were able to hold site.
It's not an amazing giga 5head read or pred but it's just something I remember that kinda illustrates my point I hope. (And I don't mean to make out that I'm super big brain and stuff too)
