Reykjavik Bracket & Seeding

Broadcast just mentioned how Guard will be skipping groups due to winning Optic, with that and other info in mind, here’s a guess on who will be seeded where:

Top Seeds/Seeded into Playoffs

• The Guard [NA]
• G2/Team Liquid [EMEA]
• Paper Rex [APAC]
• KRU/LOUD [SA]

This leaves us with 8 teams who will be placed into groups.
The format mentioned by Riot is a double-elim group stage leading into playoffs. These teams fighting in the groups are:

• G2 Esports/Team Liquid [EMEA/EU]
• Fnatic [EMEA/EU]
• OpTic [NA]
• KRU/LOUD [SA]
• LEV/NIP [SA]
• DRX [KR]
• ZETA DIVISION [JP]
• XERXIA [APAC]

With this in mind, the Group Stage as of VLR puts 4 teams into elimination. This means there will be 2 groups of 4 teams.

Possible seeding might be: (based off regional Champions results)

• G2/TL, FNC/DRX, OPTC, KRU/LOUD (Higher)
• XIA, DRX/FNC, LEV/NIP/LOUD, ZETA (Lower)

Or: if all #1 teams are seeded higher:

• G2/TL, DRX, ZETA, KRU/LOUD (Higher)
• FNC, OPTC, XIA, LEV/NIP (Lower)
  Meaning that groups could look like this, although anything is possible assuming that the seeding goes as above:

But i think what they meant by latam vs brazil is the one who wins between these two make his respective winner first seed.. so if nip win loud same seed as the guard (credit to a brazilian guy don’t remember his name)

how can LOUD win against NIP and get a lower seed?

since seeding matters, i predict they put 3rd place emea in the lower seeds (of course with not allowing them in same group). either drx or loud will be placed in higher as a result. just an educated guess though.

I don't know what the groups will be, but one thing I can guarantee is that DRX will get the hardest group

whoever makes it out of group will poop on the seeded teams

Are playoffs double elimination?
It would be weird if not for this tournament, because the top seeded teams could literally be out in one bo3 since they skip the groupstage lol. What a waste of time and money that would be
