Why is the defense of people that do this always that they were 13 and didn't know better or that "everyone does something stupid when they were young". He 1) isn't even that much older now and 2) hasn't demonstrated any change of behavior or authentic apology and acknowledgement of what was wrong about his actions. I'm not trying to cancel him or some shit but there really is no defense for this atm. People, even at 13, know its wrong when they do it or they would do it in front of black people all the time.
First of all, I've heard that he did apologize not long after his messages/recordings were leaked (whichever they were). Second of all, why should he apologize now? Wake me up when other players refuse to play on the same team as him, when orgs don't want to pick him up, when sponsors refuse to support the org he's playing for. Aren't his current t2 teammates and players he plays ranked with from different ethnic backgrounds? Let me know if they're upset by what he did. Why should we be offended?
Until then, I think calling for him to apologize because people on online forums don't like what he said at 13 or 14 really isn't important. It's not going to change anyone's opinion of him that already don't like what he said. Why are you talking about people's reactions to his actions when that is irrelevant to the ethics of his actions? Pretty much how you feel entitled to deliver justice for the wrong doing of this 13 year old boy's mistake but as you said even though they are a child they need to still be held accountable which I would like to believe they have had multiple years ago, and like anyone in this world would like to keep it in the past so he deleted the apology and the account, was it the smartest decision? This isn't about delivering justice. I'm not calling for him to be fired. Racism is far too normalized within the Valorant community through experience playing the game and the replies within this thread, and it certainly doesn't help to have Valorant pros that stream to younger audiences project the wrong kind of image. OP said they have continued that racism to current day, which is a little different than a young mistake that one has grown from since no?
I'm not going to play vigilante and condemn someone if it's not a serious problem. Yes of course it's not very nice to say the n word, but this guy is not throwing up the N*zi salute and inciting hatred. The fact that the people around him are comfortable and not condemning him tells me that he's probably not a hateful or bad person that deserves his career axed. You might see it as racist and demand an apology, but others might see it as someone quick to anger and say offensive words that have no true meaning behind them. I don't see things so easily in black and white.
